seems to me you have it exactly backwards. they prefer to remain christian as a first priority, so whether or not they accept that humans are apes they don't want to let that interfere with their faith. one can probably paint over the gaps in the genesis account such that it roughly looks like evolution. you won't get too far trying to tell them that understanding how nature works is more important than a sense of belonging to a faith community.

Me!
And by the way, we didn't just *evolve* from primates. We ARE primates.
I remain a Christian because I can look at the universe in all its wonder, at life on earth and the sheer brilliance and complexity of its evolution and see God in all of it. I remain a Christian because the example set by Christ and the principles of just, unselfish, and honorable living He taught have value. They are useful in or out of the context of Christianity, for the purposes of building a healthy and functioning society.

I'm an Atheist, but I will stick up for the Christian beliefs, because I don't feel anybody should be given an antagonistic question, questioning their faith.
Just because Christianity believes that God created everything does not mean that the bible needs to be taken literally. In the bible it says that God created man, but it does not mean that we were created as our modern form - we could have been created as humanoid figures, very, very similar to primates and evolved from then on.
You can't expect that God placed everything that we see today here, and it did nothing but exist as it does today! If we were created by a divine being, I'm sure we've changed from the time we were created.

Evolution is not about proving how man evolved from one species to another one. Like for apes and primates came from a common anscestor to becoming uniquely different from ape and man. Science cannot prove that conclusively and never will.

none. no christians 'know' that we evolved from primates. christians 'know' that we were created by god. you 'know' about evolution...christians 'know' about creation.
i believe in neither...but, i mean...if your not a christian, don't do christian things. my people didn't know about christianity until the bible was brought to us, but we do know we were where we were millenia before the arrival of the good book.
...and the moral of the story is...both ideas are but opinions, and though everyone besides one has an opinion...it's best for one to keep an opinion to one's self. nobody ever comes out smarter after these conversations

That is a THEORY, Einstein. And a poor one, at that. You go on believing what you want to believe. I will serve God. You will stand before Christ at the judgement. What will you use for an excuse? I didn't know, Lord? It won't fly. He will show you how you persecuted and mocked and ridiculed Christians. Then He shall reward you accordingly. So go get yourself a banana, sit in a tree out back, and give it some thought.

Of course, somebody's going to say it: humans are primates. We evolved WITH other primates. (I read what some others say here and marvel at the ignorance.)

Not really an answer to your question, but just for clarification, humans didn't evolve from primates. Humans ARE primates.
