a good combonation is when the RMS of the Subwoofer is equal to or less than the RMS rating of the amp

You really need to have the subs RMS and the amps RMS about the same. Sounds like you have a beast of a subwoofer but not so much about the amp/sub combo. Im sure this amp would power the sub adequately, but to get the most out of your system, match the amps RMS with the subs RMS.

Sometimes under powering your sub will hurt it also.

Remember that wattage ratings are how much power the speakers consume, not how much sound they are able to make. A 1000-watt speaker with 10% efficiency only makes 100 watts of sound energy. The other 90% goes into heat.
