Would you still be a good person capable of meaning and purpose?

Consider that almost everyone considers himself or herself a good person. Even criminals planning their next crime think themselves as basically good. So without God, our capacity for self deception would cause our standards to simply sink to equal whatever behavior we like.

Capable of meaning and person? Consider this from an atheist:

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted 20th century mathematician, philosopher and Nobel Laureate)

So no, logically, without God there can be no purpose, no meaning and no point to life. With no purpose, meaning and point to life, there is no hope. But here again we could call on our capacity for self deception and constantly search for some meaningless good feelings which we would call joy or love.

Good by who standards ?????...God or man?

If it is by God's standards then we must aspire to be good in Him for with him we can do nothing.

Anything we do, we must do it in Him, not for vain glory for it will all be fruitless....

The joy, hope and love this world gives is only for a season and temporary but joy, hope and love that God gives is eternal....
The sooner we know that we are dependant on Him the better for us.....for without Him nothing else matters!!!!!

Yes, but, not at the same level and not with the joy of the Holy Spirit. It never leaves. If you are saved and are committed to becoming a mature Christian, you will not fall into temptation of the flesh, as often. Not be in your carnal nature as often or as long. You will be "sinless" longer.

There are a lot of people who have not excepted God in their lives that experience these feelings.
And yes I would be a good person even without God, but being good isn't what gets you to heaven. It is a faith in the Lord God that does. And thanks but no thanks I will not turn back from God.

Yes, I would still be a good person.
I could experience some joy and love, but it wouldn't be the same.

I need God. I need Jesus.

In reality, the answer is:

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is impossible to experience Joy without God in your lives, no matter how hard Television and Hollywood try to make you think so. You may have hope but it is a false hope.

It would be a life with out hope.
It would have no meaning for me.
Much like the animals, born to eat, reproduce and die.
No thank you, I like the hope of everlasting life.
