It's completely natural for a dog's fur to change colour as it matures. Don't sweat it.

Could just be the breed coming out - it seems he will be piebald, as a lot of mixed breeds are...The "Little Rascals" dog had a black ring around one eye, for example.
The skin and fur will be blotchy - especially the pitbull, which is already an amalgam... you realize there is no "pitbull" breed - they are either American Bull Terriers/ Mastiff combinations with English Bulldogs and a different breed thrown in. I have seen the offspring of a dingo and a German Shepard that had patches of the gray dingo fur within the regular short hair Sheperd fur....it's a crapshoot.

Many grey dogs are actually born black and turn grey as they age, so whatever he is mixed with could be one of these breeds. And yes, poor quality food according to a recent study actually can cause coats to turn grey! Feed a premium or at least a well-known name brand puppy food.

most animals change color some as they mature.. they may lighten or darken.. a black dog may get some white hairs in its coat.. nothing to worry about.

It could be natural but sometime it can be because of dirt and i'm not sure about medical concerns but you should check with your vet to be safe.

Maybe stress. That happens to people as well. Or it could just be that now that he's getting older, he's changing colours.
