That book is full of supernatural stuff. It doesn't belong in an educated country, right?

I will have you know that Harry Potter is a Scholastic publication- You know, they put out the educational books.
Atheists don't hate Harry Potter. And not every Christian does, for that matter. I certainly do not. Although I haven't read them, just seen the films.

We atheists don't hate Harry Potter. Only Christians hate an entertaining children's story. It doesn't really involve the supernatural, none of the supernatural in Harry Potter is authentic. We aren't trying to shove Harry Potter mumbo-jumbo down children's throat's in schools either, the Christians try to shove the Bible, prayer, religion and false "science" down children's throat's in PUBLIC schools!!

Sorry. Love Harry Potter series. I've always liked fantasy, sci-fi, and the supernatural. It's a really fun read. If you're into that sort of fiction, what's not to like? Why would my atheism make me hate it?

Harry Potter puts the supernatural in fiction, where it belongs. Magic and demons are cool in books and movies, but they just aren't real.

The difference being that Harry Potter is recognised as fiction.

No you have it all wrong. We happen to understand the difference between fantasy and reality and so some of atheists do like Harry Potter for what they are - entertaining stories.

Thats one of the dumbest questions I've heard. I'm an atheist and I'm allowed to dream. I like the harry potter movies. Awesome special effects I say.

I think it's the Christians who oppose Harry Potter.

Atheists recognize that it's just fiction.

Nah, disliking it for being overhyped mediocrity is a rather more educated option.

Particularly considering it was written by a person of such poor education that Time recorded "It wasn't until after Sorcerer's Stone was published that it even occurred to her that she had written [a fantasy novel]."

The book certainly doesn't belong in a classroom in an educated country.

I love Harry Potter! It's a good thing EDUCATED people don't actually believe that the story is true. Can't say that about the bible though, unfortunately
