Some uninformed Christians, or sincere doubters question the authority of the Bible, believing that it is just a collection of myths and inaccuracies.

Three things characterize almost everyone who has difficulty accepting the authority of the Scriptures:

1) They seldom, if ever, bother to read the Bible.

2) They approach the Bible with prejudiced ideas learned from critics and their writings.

3 ) They are not acquainted with the Bible's " Author. "

My personal opinion is.... the Bible is God breathed, every word, every dotted " i " and every crossed " t " in the original author. I believe the Holy Scriptures are God's instruction book to mankind. When studied under the influence of the Holy Spirit, they are God speaking to us.

God be with you all,

Is the Bible true?

Many people think the bible is full of errors and mistakes. The bible is 100 percent accurate. The bible can prove itself to be true. The bible is an accurate book about history, science, future events foretold, and how we are to live. Lets examine some of the evidence there is for the bible being the inspired word of God.

The bible is the only book that has predicated the future 100 percent. Only God can do this. No man could even get close enough to compare to predicting the future like the bible can. The bible predicted the name, birthplace, triumphal entry, betrayal, suffering, death, and burial of Jesus. Jesus was foretold in the bible hundreds of years before Him came.

"The following probabilities are taken from Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Moody Press, 1963) to show that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability. Stoner says that by using the modern science of probability in reference to eight prophecies, ‘we find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 10 to the 17th power." That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. In order to help us comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that "we take 10to the 17th power silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They will cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man."
Stoner considers 48 prophecies and says, "we find the chance that any one man fulfilled all 48 prophecies to be 1 in 10 to the 157th power, or 1 in 10,00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 000,000,000."

(This information was taken from the book Evidence that Demands a Verdict, by Josh McDowell.)

Just think this is only the percentage with a person being able to fill only 8 proficies. Jesus fulfilled over 300 proficies. This proves the accuracey of the bible trough proficey with out any doubt.

Here are some of the things scientific in the bible:

There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. (1 Corinthians 15:41) The bible is telling us all the stars are different and unique from one another.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls: (Leviticus 17:11) We were told by the bible our life is in the blood.

It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. (Isaiah 40:22) In the bible it states that the Earth is round not flat.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. (2 Peter 3:10) Here is an example of nuclear explosion.
Here are some of many of the evidences that the bible is accurate with science.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16) knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1 20-21) So the bible is the work of God. There we 40 authors of 66 books that were inspired by God to write the bible. These 66 books were written over a time span of about 1,500 years. All 66 books agree with each other. You can not get any 66 books over 1,500 years, that were from different countries to all agree with each other today. This proves the bible is really Gods word. For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

I have studied many of the sources for the Bible. Did you know there are two sources that make up Genesis. The creation story was written in 500 B.C. while the Jews were captive in Babylon to compete with the Zoroastrian creation story. The first gospel written was the book of Mark. It wasn't written until 40 years after Christ had died. Also, what about all the writings of that time that were not included in the Bible. What about the parts that the Protestants excised after the reformation? Those were decisions made by men. In the case of the Protestant Bible, did God decide in the 1500s that those books suddenly didn't belong there? I believe the Bible has many good lessons in it and should be seen as a guide to life. I feel it is God inspired.

Exegesis is the science whereby scholars determine the correct interpretation of the text. The Bible is unique, for it is the word of God coming to us in the words of men. Therefore, biblical exegesis demands that we find out what both the human author and the Holy Spirit are trying to say.

The scholarship of the early church fathers was matched only by their holiness. Hence they speak to us with authority even today. They are also unique in that they are the link between the apostles and us.

This does not belittle the work of scholars and exegetes today. To accomplish their task they have to be fluent in the biblical languages and in the history and geography of the ancient Near East. They must muster archeology, paleontology, anthropology, oriental psychology and many other specialized sciences.

Over and above these sciences, the Christian exegete must take account of the fact that the Bible was given to us, in both its Testaments, by a living tradition. The literature side of it can be studied with the tools of literary analysis, but only the believers who passed it on to us can interpret the revelatory aspect. That means that the Jewish community today is the authority today on the Old Testament as the Hebrew Scriptures. The Catholic Church is the final authority on the New Testament. It is also an authority on the Old Testament since the Christian community inherited the Hebrew Scriptures and therefore has the right to interpret them according to the light of Christ. Also the earliest Christians were Jews, and the learned among them, like Paul, could interpret the Jewish Scriptures authoritatively.

Peace and every blessing!

I'm a Christian, but I would like to point out one thing you said.

"3 ) They are not acquainted with the Bible's " Author. " "

...The author was not God himself. The Bible was written by man. They may have had contact with God/Jesus/etc, but they are still man. They are not infallible as God is. Some mistakes must have been made.

We also know that all the books written are NOT all included in the bible. We have small pieces of other books that at one time, the Church took out for one reason or another. That doesn't make me feel safe in the fact that things were NEVER changed.

I do, however, believe in the important things. Not about who did what or who was who...but that people should all be treated with respect, peace is better than war, creation better than destruction...

It is sad to see so many people being misled. The whole church thing has been misconstrued as a building. That is not the message that Jesus spoke. The "church" is within us, not without. The Bible is a guide for living and it is not infalliable. It contains many errors, omissions, and botched translations. Man has deliberately been deceived since Constantine legalized Christianity.

God is merciful. He will overlook some of these errors, because he loves us. However, the deception of a few have misled millions. They of course, will be held to high accountability for this. Those who believe in the deception and refuse to look deeper will be judged accordingly. Blind faith is not what Jesus taught.

I trust the Bible as long as it is translated correctly. The best version of the Bible today is the KJV.
All these new language ones take away from the correct translation because english is a changing language.
For example 50 yrs ago the word gay meant a happy person - today it means a homosexual person. That changes translation when you try translating the Bible into modern english.

I am fully in agreement with you. Those that do read it, dont ususally study it and kNOW truth. They just read it,no we are called to read it, obey and know it . It must be done in a spirit of lvoe tha comes from God. WE are to pray about it and ask for more revelation. The Bible is in the inspired word of God. SOme say it has contradictions, but no. The Bible is like a giant jigsaw puzzle, where we get one little piece at a time to fill it and then there is a big gloirous picture of the plan of God, so breathtakingly beautiful. When we get done, we get to start ove r with a new puzzle that gives even more but an even deeper meaning to what we already learned. This continues till Jesus comes again. When one finds what they assert is a contradictin, its just because they dont have all the pieces yet, soon a scripture will come and just fit and it all clicks it. I count it all as joy. Stick with the King james tho as it is closeset to the orginal test. Do Bible studies using some green words or old herbrew words that tell theoriginal word that was used and its meaning, and I tell you what, the word comes so alive so fast, tha tyou cant imagine how it took you so long to learn this much. THese are the last days and we dont have long to know and go to Jesus, so God is giving way more latter day rain annointing to give us new and wonderful revelation as the mysteries of the Bible are being revelaed, jsut liek God said He woudl for these last days. YOu keep rpeaching jesus man, cuz the world need Him, Not all have Him, but they need to know. How will they know if we dont tell them. and we must know that when we believe and we belong to Jesus and are born again, we will obey what GOd tells us from love and be glad to do so, as we take on His desires andnot our own anymore. God calls us to holiness and purity, keep pressing on my freind. God is with us all the way, we cant lose. VIctory is already here. amen

yes, I trust in the Living Word of God. but remember there are places where the Bible is not setting on every table in a house . there are places where people are put to death for even having a Bible . remember there are places where people can't just pull out their Bibles and read them any time they want too.
