Depends. How much driving experience you have? Many first time drivers will end up damaging their car. Are you trying to find something that won't cost an arm and leg? If so, forget Mustangs, Camaros, or any sporty car. And Jeeps, 4 wheel drive, more gas used and usually higher insurance since they are 4 wd. You may not like it, but most economical solution is a 4 door sedan or maybe a compact pickup.

so if you're looking for a "jeep" type of car (small SUV), get a Cherokee, Wrangler, or the Compass. those look the best.
Or any truck would be good too.

insurance rates are going to kill you. suggest that you contact the insurance agent that you are planning on using. and get information about the rates for various vehicles and the coverages that are offered. choose one of the lower cost vehicles as far as coverage goes. It should be noted, that a off road vehicle may not be covered if you damage it when off road. unless your coverage specifically includes that coverage.
