Those who persecute people of different religions are acting out of fear. It could be fear that they will convert their children to different religions, fear that they may be wrong about their own faith, or many other reasons, but it all boils down to fear.
It is human nature to fear the things we do not understand and by not communicating with those of other religions, you close the door to understanding them and open the door to fear and persecution.

This is not a true statement.
Some religions teach their members to hate non members and some even teach them to murder them.
Other religions, such as Bible based Christianity, ( I'm not referring to those who claim to be Christian but are not Bible based), teach that we should love our neighbor and pray for our enemies.
Please don't paint all religious people with the same broad brush which can validily be used to describe only certain religious groups.
Nearly all the groups which promote hate are more properly defined as "false cults".

It's not all the people. There are some, but I have no problem with someone who has a different religion. In fact, I like to talk to them about their beliefs, traditions, and customs.

I don't. And most people I know don't. We all worship in our own way and that's just the way it is. A good radio announcer, Paul Harvey, once said: "When judgment day is upon us, our maker will not ask what our hang up was on religion or HOW we worshiped but instead will ask WHO and WHAT we worshiped".

Most of them don't.....and the ones who do don't really understand what religion is all about in the first place.
You can't have "hate" and believe in God.

That is not true in most cases. I am christian but my best friend blieves in the god Budda. It is at least not true for me and my family. We do believe in God butwe respect other peoples beliefs and religions.

interesint how you say that to me it seems that there are three groups. there is the christians, the islams and the others. the others consist of pagans wiccians budiest toaists atheist agnostics. and we all get along and we get along just fine with the islams as well. its the christians that for the most part we dislike and its because they started it. and its the christians that dont get along with the islams again because the chrsitians started it. so does it seem like if you got rid of the christians everyone would get along a bit better?

They shouldn't. They DO because they want to interpret what God has told them the way THEY want it to be, not the way it was intended.

It's because they're all completely wrong and they just can't stand it...lashing out at others makes them feel better about themselves.
