I'm babysitting a girl who is 2 years old. Her mom is working in the basement in her office, but the little girl isn't allowed to go down there. She gets upset because she knows her mom is there. WHat are some things I can do to keep her entertained and happy?

She doesn't like books, I've tried that. I'm not allowed to take her anywhere besides her backyard. She'll watch TV, but only if you force her. I'm 14 years old and I'm totally bored. Do you have ideas to keep me from getting bored and still keep this little girl happy and entertained?

I'm 14 and babying sitting a three year old boy! Wooohooo! :) Yeah I know what you mean. It can get boring.

I Play hot and cold (aka Find the item) with the kid. I alsoplay catch tag, hide and seek inside if you can and outside. Does she have a favourite show ( Like dora or the wiggles), you could print off coloring actives for her to do. Make up easy craft ideas. Get her to help you when you amke lucnh ( Ask her to hand you cowls, spoons, cups etc..)Do puzzles with her.Find or bring a big flashlight and do a lshadow dance. Make a puppet show out of old socks ( And decorating the socks can be a craft idea.) Have a tea party with her teddies. Have her play dress up with her clothes and some of her moms. (Ask mother first.) And Finally make up a big scanvger hunt she will love hunting around the house, or make a treasure map ! :o

Once you get to know her you'll figuerd out different things to do. Good Luck!

See if her mother will allow you to bring in another 2 year old girl to babysit at the same time. The two of them can play with dolls or pretend to have tea parties.
You can help your young charge have a nice day doing crafts like coloring, making gifts for mom like a hand print on a paper plate. Remember attention spans are short so no more than 15 minutes before changing activities. Set up a track in the yard and have her race around it as fast as she can, be the cheer leader for her. Have her assist with making lunch, put her to peeling carrots carefully watch she doesn't peel fingers, she can tear the lettuce for salad. Have her help you bake cookies from scratch she can decorate them after they cool as well as helping measure ingredients.
Ask her what she wants to do and remember her imagination is awesome so pretending a box is a car works.

Ask her what she wants to play. Or do a craft or play tag or hide and go seek. Most 2-year-olds like that. Also, next time you babysit, have her mom leave the room without her knowing so she doesn't know she's in the basement.

You can go to some sort of toy store or a dollar store and get some cheap useless junk that she will find entertaining. Coloring books, alot of crayons, markers, stickers, etc. Movies also work great.

Have you tried coloring or drawing? Play a game even a silly one. Listen to music and dance. Play dress up. Have a tea party. And the list goes on. The only thing is you have to act like it is interesting to you for it to grab her attention and keep it. Good luck.
