First off, I have nothing against Niqab although I asked a controversial question earlier. I just want to know what place actually hired you or did your husband just take care of you?
And do you also wear gloves and have your eyes covered? How did you get the job? What was your background that helped you get it if anything?
Okay, okay, it is a multi-question question. Please star, I don't believe there are many niqabis on yahoo answers.

DESI, that's real nice, you just called me an infidel!! Well, congratulations, you've just one the prize for rudest fellow Muslim yet! Apparently you didn't read either since I asked if you ALSO wear gloves and ALSO cover your eyes NOT if you wear gloves on your eyes! SOME niqaabis wear gloves some don't some cover thier eyes and some don't that is why I am asking!
You should also beware of the evil eye because one should never talk about thier wealth or elude to it in any way.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim
I worked in the reservations department of a world class hotel chain.
I no longer wear niqaab as I always felt is was not obligatory and I did it as an "extra". I don't feel any particular benefit from in and I feel hijaab and abaya is comprehensive enough coverage for me.
As to the lady who is agains niqaab, the ayah you quoted "so you will be recognized and not molested" does not mean that each woman should be recognized as in "Oh, Hi Maryam, I didn't recognize you", but rather, that the women should set themselves apart in their dress so they should be recognized as MUSLIMS. Recognized as a class, not as an individual.
Indeed, there is a hadith that mentions one day that RasulAllah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, was walking with one of his wives. As he stopped to say goodbye to her at the opening of the masjid, two of the Sahaabah came by. Allah's Messenger went after them and told them "This is Safiyyah", indicating that the woman was his wife. She was not recognizable as an individual because she was covered completely. The Companions were aghast that Allah's Messenger would fear that they might think he was walking with an unrelated woman, but he wanted to put any doubt out of their minds lest they entertain such a notion and have a doubt.
The ayah on hijaab came down so we could be recognized as women who worship Allah, as opposed to the pagan women of Quraish and the non-Muslim women in our own time and countries. And Allah knows best.
fi Aman Allah,
Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

I don't wear niqab, but I know someone who did, so I'll speak on her behalf for your question. She was a researcher and wore niqab, with gloves, but didn't cover her eyes. She stopped wearing it after a while though because she had problems from many sides. It was a bit of an extra hassle for her to work microscopes and handle slides and things, but that didn't really bother her. Most of her problems came from uneducated people around her and from the sweltering southern humidity. She opted for jilbab and hijab instead, but prefers niqab when she gets the chance.

I plan to begin wearing the niqab really soon, inshallah. I personally am not going to choose to cover my eyes and wear gloves. I plan to be a nurse. I know it doesn't directly answer your question, but its something. I have heard of many sisters graduating and entering the medical field mashallah. I hope this answers part of your question.

To those opposing Islamic Laws of Hijabis/Niabis:
Yes, we wear gloves that cover our eyes, that makes so much sense!
LOL, we are also oppressed and have nothing better to do than cover ourselves. Wait... we also wear shoes on our hands, and hats on our feet, and lipstick on our fingernails, and nail polish on our mouths. What an idiot.
Yes, I wear a hijab, I'm a niqabi. How did I get my job? I applied for it, I qualified for it, and No, they weren't racist infidels like you. Happy?
Nahh... I didn't apply for it. I won't deny the fact that I am filthy rich. I don't work and I get everything I want. And that means I give portions of my income/salary to those in need.

I'd like to know what jobs if any they have had. I will star this.
EDIT: LOL, I got a thumbs-down! Well, I guess it wasn't a great answer but if I only star this then most people won't go look at it unless they happen to be online the moment I star it. Most people I know on here don't go back to see what people starred just what the answered.

Well I don't wear Niqab or Abaya yet but I don't work anymore as I choose not to do so and because my husband doesn't want me to work. He'd rather have me in the house taking care of the home and him then worry about me when he's trying hard to get his degree. I don't work because I always wanted to be a housewife and because I hate people in general because of their negative attitudes.

I doubt you get many (if any) answers for this...I have only met one Muslim in America that wears Niqab and she was only visiting...
EDIT: To the guy/girl below me, you can't have them banned because it's a religious right....but I don't agree with the Niqab and it is actually against Islam. The Qur'an says, "Tell your wives and daughters that they should cast their outer garments over themselves, that they should be recognized and not molested." 33:59. People wearing Niqab cannot be recognized with a covered face.

Why would a Niqabi work when it is the mans duty to bring money home to the wife ?
In Islam it is the mans duty to bring home COOKED food so the women have no Islamic obligation to even cook.

I favour the banning of the nijab and hijab. It is against Western culture. I am not against multiculturalism or immigration, but we have separation of church and state and to improve the plight of women from the Middle East and maintain social stability, we have to accept secularist values. It is the same with shari'a law. If you come here, you come to live in a Western culture. This is why I actually favour the amnesty for Hispanic immigrants as well as bilingual education for them and Spanish language rights: they actually contribute and want to be here. Look at the U.K., the Netherlands, France, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Sweden and Norway. They all have the same problems trying to curb the tide of support for a purely religious society and all of them have traditions of secularism. One doesn't go to another culture to turn it upside down and make it into one's Third World homeland. If these people wanted to stay in Somalia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan, they would.
