A friend of mine suffers from this problem. Sometimes they tell a subtle joke and it flies right over the heads of people who ought to be reading the wind rather than the water.

Much of the time I simply avoid talking to people altogether. Most really aren't worth the effort it takes to communicate. Usually, I'd really rather be alone with my own thoughts. ...and yes, I'm very, very intelligent. Can't help it, I was born this way. What's your excuse?
