Hahaha!! Your van is in the US illegally! It has to be imported properly! I don't know if you can even do it without taking the van back to Canada and recrossing the border. You have to deal with US customs.

I am insurance broker and registrations agent in Canada, and we have seen the same thing with people failing to import cars into Canada properly. Bottom line is, if you don't get it properly cleared into the US, you have one year to get it out of the country. After that it could be seized. Read the information on the above web-sites carefully, do not miss a step.

Just bring registration of your vehicle to the local DMV or court house (depending on state). Your vehicle must pass all inspections required by that state. (Some states have safety inspections, other have smog requirements).

Once you can so your vehicle meets the requirements of the state, you should be able to register it.

WHY DON'T YOU JUST CALL YOUR LOCAL DMV OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.
