Do the nay sayers need some themselves to dream up their opium fuelled 'rapture ready' adventures? I meaned, some of the stuff they come out with is pretty stoned out: like when they say the Pope is the Antichrist... it's funny that it's always these people that try to deny MS sufferers legitimate treatment

People have been brain washed for a long time by the government to belive that marijuana is bad for you. That it has adverse effects on your health, the same way smoking a cigarrette does. Little do most people know that there have been numerous studies on the effects of cannabis, and none of them have any negative out come. People just need to research to realize that it does not do any one harm and can actually be used for medicinal purposes. Most people are just ignorant and belive everything that the hear on TV. THe only effects cannabis has on anyone is sleepy, happy, hungry. The only thing holding us back from being able to use cannabis as a medicine are stupid people that refuse to look at all of the medical research that has been done to prove that there is nothing wrong with it. Maybe some day all of us that know the truth can change the laws and wake up the rest of the dumb-a****. Keep spreading the word and eventually we have to be heard.

Because legal cannabis would impact impact heavily on the profits of the Eli Lily corporation, of which the Bushes own a good bit of stock...

A good portion of their profits come from drugs developed while trying to create a Cannabis antagonist, and would pretty much become either replaced by Cannabis, or would fall into the OTC or Generic market.

I seriously was going to ask this myself!! LOL

It pisses me off to know we have weed, a great medicine for so many things ailing mankind...with very few unpleasant side effects or risk. Yet, man would rather shell out big money for pharmeceutical poisons that destroy the body. Like for example, this new BS, Restless Leg Symdrome. Hello??? All these people need to do is smoke a J before bed, eat some munchies, and hit the hay. But they would rather rely on these weird drugs that came out yesterday at noon that have every side effect from anal leakage to increased feelings towards compulsive gambling or sexual activity. WTF??

All a little MJ will do is relax the hell out of you and mellow your body and mind. And the amount needed to get you there would cost a fraction of the cost of one stinking pill of these designer pharmaceuticals.

Sick, sick SAD world.

It seems the Feds think that cannabis can only be used for recreation.
California legalized cannabis for medical reasons at the state level then after the clinics were set up the FBI came and busted people trying to help....CANCER patients.

It's their misguided sense of moral duty I suppose.

I object to cannabis for medical reasons. You can get perscribed cannabis for anxiety.. ANXIETY! How can a drug with a side effect of paranoia treat anxiety?? I have anxiety, I find it very difficult to talk to people, and when I am stoned, I get even MORE anxious, and keep to myself (if I'm at a party), because I'm paranoid and think everyone at the party is judging me...

Also, the fight to make cannabis a medical treatment only makes the drug a prescription drug, and still keeps it illegal for people who don't "need" it. I want marijuana to be legal on the status of Alcohol, because we should have the right to smoke weed. It's not as dangerous as alcohol, and not as addicting. It's not a perfect harmless drug, and there are RARE cases of people becoming addicted, but it's not a menace to society either. As far as medicine goes... Well, it DOES increase appetite for patients who need that.. and I know that it has many other medical benefits, I was just shocked to see that you can get it for anxiety...

But, I still say it should be legalized for recreational use, not for medical reasons. I mean, patients should be allowed to use it, but I personally don't think it should be restricted only to patients.

the world of law was developed over time through the roman empire and continued through out the catholic religion.... they have a history of interfering with the natural process and solutions throughout human history..... it is quite unlikely that those on opium would deny anyone the right of marijuana.... that is catholic and christian behavior.. to deprive humanity by calling the activity sin.... sin serves only to define something against the catholic church... in the end why should we care about sin... why should we allow the church to define or rule what we ourselves determine is good or right. It's time we look at what is truly behind the oppression of humanity.

It's the black-and-white mentality, the inability to appreciate nuance. For them, cannabis is "just plain wrong." They can't imagine that anybody could possibly use it for any other reason than to "indulge vice." This mentality causes them to loose the ability to be compassionate. They can't even admit that a terminally ill cancer patient, for whom marijuana may be the only viable means of relief, has any right to use the drug.

If you ask me, even if a cancer patient is only using marijuana to "get high," he ought to be allowed. It's much worse than a shame when misguided "morality" makes people so callous.

Well, I'm not Christian (thumbs down, I know..lol), but the old saying goes "Man made beer. God made pot. Which one do YOU prefer?" Really, can you see Jesus taking a joint away from someone who is terminally ill, can't eat because of the constant nausea, and would just like a few moments of nonsuffering before death?? I sure can't.

Catholics are for medication for medical reasons.
They're the biggest private owners of hospitals, and they're the one's who put in on the govt. bills. "Pallitative Care" is the ministires of helping the terminally ill who have 0-5 years to live.

Even Jesus said to save heavy drink & drugs for the sick.
