our questions sometimes do make a difference. I pondered this and found a question from a 9 year old a few weeks ago asking if George was in heaven. Most people didn't know it was a 9 year old until the additional details were added by his mother...so, most people took the question as a joke and answered it that way (which hurt the asker's feelings) because it ended up being serious question/topic.

We can make a difference...will you forgive me for coming out of retirement?

I agree with you ... but if I had seen that question, I would have given the same answer whether or not I had 'known' that the questioner was only 9 years old. Of course my answer would have been 'yes ... but' ... because I truly believe that we will ALL go to heaven in the end, and that purgatory/hell are like 'summer school' for those who don't 'learn all they need' before they go there. That is definitely 'simple' and 'comforting' for ANYONE of ANY AGE. But THANKS for the 'reminder' that some 'stupid questions' are put here by CHILDREN who don't understand the 'sarcasm' or 'trollism' we can get in R&S.

Even when you make a joke of it, it pays to have a serious epitaph for that reason.

But being too honest is also problematic because it exposes your emotions which become easy lickings for those seeking some self gratification. Now, if you are prepared to come out of retirement for the benefit of that experience ... you are fair game... OK?

Take care. Keep shelter nearby.

MANY PERSONS say, ‘All good people go to heaven.’ However, when asked why they go to heaven, they may say: ‘It is to be with God,’ or, ‘It is the reward for being good.’ What does the Bible teach about this?

The Bible makes clear that Jesus was raised from the dead and that he went to heaven. Also, it says that other humans would be taken there. On the night before his death, Jesus told his faithful apostles: “In the house of my Father there are many abodes. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going my way to prepare a place for you. Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will receive you home to myself, that where I am you also may be.”—John 14:1-3.

Clearly, Jesus was telling his apostles that they would be taken to heaven to be with him. The apostle Paul often told early Christians about that wonderful hope. For example, he wrote: “As for us, our citizenship exists in the heavens, from which place also we are eagerly waiting for a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20, 21; Romans 6:5; 2 Corinthians 5:1, 2) Based on such promises, millions of persons have set their hearts on heavenly life. Yet will all good persons go to heaven?

Shortly after Jesus was raised from the dead, the apostle Peter told a crowd of Jews: “The family head David . . . both deceased and was buried and his tomb is among us to this day. Actually David did not ascend to the heavens.” (Acts 2:29, 34) So the good man David did not go to heaven. What about the righteous man Job?

While suffering, Job prayed to God: “O that in Sheol [the grave] you would conceal me, that you would keep me secret until your anger turns back, that you would set a time limit for me and remember me!” Job expected that when he died he would become unconscious in the grave. He knew he would not go to heaven. But he had hope, as he explained: “If an able-bodied man dies can he live again? All the days of my compulsory service [appointed time in the grave] I shall wait, until my relief comes. You will call, and I myself shall answer you.”—Job 14:13-15.

When Jesus was on earth, which was over 4,000 years after the rebellion of Adam and Eve, he said: “No man has ascended into heaven but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man.”—John 3:13.
We read at 2 Peter 3:13: “There are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.”

I try to answer alll questions as seriously as possible. Normally, I make a point not to hurt anyone's feelings unless, of course, my feelings have been tampered with.

But that was very touching what you wrote and I do forgive you. Okay?

Have you been in retirement? You've been asking all kinds of questions. I'm excited what is to come if you're coming out of retirement, Greenwood. You'll always be forgiven.

You are right. People should be kind to anyone asking if a loved one went to Heaven.
Many blessings to you as well and all who read your posting and take it to heart.

My friend,

When the student is ready the teacher will appear. The teacher then becomes the student. Asking questions we become both the student and the teacher. We all need to learn to keep on growing. "Why's the sky blue, mommy?"

Namaste

Peace and Love

PS Welcome home pilgrim

I agree with Evan B. Also, WTF is this woman doing letting her 9 year old son run around on the internet? If she's a member of this site, she knows what people do to those they think are trolls. I am so sick of parents who can't monitor their child's internet activities and so seek to make the entire internet child-friendly.
