my nephew. My brother-in-law was in the army, and he and my sister lived abroad. One morning he and three of his army pals stole a jeep, and headed into the desert with plenty of booze. The following evening the
MP's found them and brought them back. My nephew aged 4 thought this was great and was singing a song to anyone who would listen about his daddy being locked up in the calabush, I thought the army called it the glass house.

When I was a ships cook, we invited some French matelots aboard for a meal. I cooked a classic Leek and potato soup, followed by Lancashire Hotpot, and the meal ended with apple pie.

The Frenchies jeered throughout the meal, saying that there is no such thing as an English chef and calling us 'rosbifs' etc.

My shipmates were incensed that my cooking was derided, and exacted sweet revenge. They snuck abourd the French ship and filled the fresh water tank with tadpoles.
