right now i am doing everything i can to optimize the benefits of DHA and EPA. in addition to my daily regimen of high potency softgels, i would like to know how many salmon dinners in a week (from the local grocery store) is a healthy amount. If it wasnt for f*ckn toxic mercury i would eat it everyday and reap the rewards of this omega rich fish.

Eat it every day as much as you want as long as you buy Alaskan Wild Salmon instead of farm raised.

Well, if you buy wild Alaska salmon (which are fabulous - availability really depends on where you live, though), the mercury is basically nonexistent. You'e right, though - salmon's awesome! It's exciting to hear you're trying to eat more :)
At least twice a week is the recommendation - salmon's pretty seriously low on mercury, even if it's farmed - the fish you want to worry about are the deep-feeder big guys (like tuna, swordfish, pollock). I wish I had the exact numbers for you! But, if it were me, I'd eat as much as I could afford - mmmm, salmon!
