Grendel: I very pointedly did not examine this in a manner of preferring one religion to another. I examined the historical evidence with objective lenses.
I suppose though that I should not expect objectivity in the Religion forum.

Einstein: I understand the faith portion of belief, but rather than just throwing around the accusation of the other side being "Satan," would it not be beneficial to study and understand the historical evidence, even if the other side ignores history?

In answer to your question, and without research, I would say an Israeli is a current citizen of the current Israel while an Israelite was of the 12 tribes of the Biblical Israel.
A Jew can be defined by their ethnic origin or by their religion and while many are both, many Jews are atheists or secular and some (though rare) are not of ethnic origins.
Believe it or not, you might find my knowledge on religion surprising. I'm also real big on the Constitution and the right to the free exercise of religion
