Truck drivers are looking at a substantial loss of income due to the "Supreme Court" making laws instead of ruling on the constitutionallity of the current rules. Where do you stand?

The constitution has been amended for the twenty eighth time and I missed it? Heck I only slept eight hours last night. The supreme court makes laws now? What law? I'm really interested in reading that one. First in history.

Although I am a truck driver, I believe that the entire industry needs an overhaul. Changing the Hours-of Service rules aren't going to fix the problem.... As long as people continue to drive for the low wages, nothing will change. I don't like the Supreme Court making laws, when they are just supposed to be deciding on Constitutional issues. I just go out of the Over-The -Road part of the business, I now drive a local delivery truck. I should have done this years ago, instead of over the road for 15 years. While not having to spend $20-$40 a day eating, etc., the slightly lower paychecks are actually leaving me with more money. You should try it, I have to do some physical labor, but I feel better than I have in years.

As the wife of a truck driver, I say leave them where they are at. It seems to me that they always pick on the truck drivers. When, if everyone would stop and think a minute here, virtually everything you buy comes on a truck at some point or another. Also, these guys have to pass hard tests just to drive. And keep the CDL license current. They have many hours of driving and are usually better drivers than anyone else. It's the cars that cause alot of the accidents, but the drivers always get blamed. Sure, there are some stupid ones out there, but for the most part, they are just family men trying to earn a living for their families. If the government wants to worry about hours, think about doctors hours! Would you want a doctor operating on you that is in the first few hours of working, or on their 36th hour of work! Not me! No thanks! Just as dangerous. Someone could die!

It's not all that important because many drivers will fudge their logbooks to say whatever anyway, or keep more than 1 logbook.

I sure don't want to be run over by some trucker that's to sleepy to drive, so I guess I'm for it
