Nice assumption, but no. I'm just saying that having a college fund for only one race, regardless of what race it is, is stupid. Yes, I realize what black people's ANCESTORS had to go through WAS terrible, but that doesn't mean that black people shouldn't have to do for themselves. What about all the white kids who are raised in poverty? what about other minorities besides African-Americans whose ancestors had to go through crap? Singling out black people as the only race that has ever been victims to anyone is stupid, and so is overcompensating by rewarding people who haven't had to go through said struggles just because of the color of their skin. It's ironic, because black people hate that white people get preferential treatment because of their skin color, but a great deal of them apparently don't mind getting preferential treatment themselves. Two wrongs do NOT make a right.

Right. So you think white kids who grow up in poverty somehow have it coming just because of what their ancestors did. It's that kind of attitude that is the reason that there is racial tensiion in this country.

It will happen when Caucasians have been 1) held in slavery for almost 400 years & not allowed any education at all, 2) have lived under an apartheid system for more than 100 years after that, during which any education allowed is accomplished with the bare minimum - or less - state help, and 3) when it has been the law of the land to discriminate against them for a few decades after then. That's how long it'll be, you self-congratulatory pompous ignorant twit.

And to answer your responses: the difference between the history of African Americans and other hard luck stories is that only in their case was this INSTITUTIONALIZED racism, meaning: it was the LAW, and no matter how hard they worked or how good they were in how many ways, it was ILLEGAL for them to better their condition for hundreds of years. And even when it wasn't, the lowest nobody would have been allowed to kill Booker T. Washington in Alabama and get away with it if he said Mr. Washington looked at him wrong.

And anyway, just what the hell do you think the UNCF is?? It raises money to support historically black colleges that don't have the huge endowments some white colleges have, so that they can continue to operate and provide the excellent education they do, and to offer scholarships to students who couldn't otherwise afford college. Not to mention the enlarging psychosocial effect these students experience in going to an historically black college where they are the majority for a change, and their teachers reflect them as well. They're not getting any special money the white people should be getting or any such dumb thing. They still operate with way less & do a fabulous job & are a national treasure! Man, you get me ticked off.

It'll never happen. Even if the whites were the minority, it would seem rascist to some to have a United Caucasian College Fund. I wish they had one though. Maybe I wouldn't have to pay for my daughter's college.

Never will happen. It will always be okay to discriminate against the majority. When caucasions are no longer in the majority, people will say that they have had enough. Not fair but it is what it is.
