Which Jesus do you serve
If Ephesians says to imitate Christ
Why do you look so much like the world

Pretty blue eyes and curly brown hair
and a clear complexion
Is how you see Him as dies for your sins
But the Word says He was battered and scarred
Or did you miss that part
Sometimes I wonder if we'd reconize Him

My Jesus bled and died
He spent His life with theifs, and sluts, liars and the last of these
He loved to the poor and accosted the comfortable
So which one do you want to be

My Jesus would never be accepted in my church
The blood and dirt on His feet my stain the carpet
But He reaches for the hurt and depises the proud
And I think He'd prefer Beale Street
To the stain glass crowd
And I know He can hear me if I cry out loud

If Jesus was here would you walk right by
on the other side
Or fall down and worship at His holy feet

Pretty blue eyes? The man was jewish for god's sake.

Still, you're right that most christian churches would wince if someone like Jesus walked in. He was homeless, he had no money, he lived on charity, he preached against the religious establishment, he threw the moneylenders out of the temple, and he didn't follow the rules and regulations of his church.

Fortunately, christians can ignore those parts of the bible and focus on the truly important parts like fighting evolution.

I follow the Jesus who became a man so that He could come to earth and die for my sins.

Where in the Bible does it say He was homeless? He had a mother and father and sisters and brothers. His earthly father was a carpenter...I'm sure they weren't homeless.

After he was beaten and crucified, I'm sure he was scarred and battered. I think the scars probably remained, but I'm guessing that God healed Him of his cuts and bruises when He raised Jesus from the dead.

Before all of that, Jesus was just like anyone else, except for His actions. It doesn't say in the Bible that he went around like a slob. And, for the record, everyone back then had dirty feet...they all wore sandals! Don't you think Jesus also would have washed the blood off his hands and feet? Actually, the women who prepared his body for burial probably did that.

Jesus was not an outright rebel against all that was proper in His society. He only went against custom when the customs were wrong.

My Jesus died for me, and anyone that would accept Him. I probably wouldn't recognize Him as he was beaten beyond recognition. The scriptures allude to this. I one time got a glimpse of what He went through. But My Lord is off of the cross and sits at the right hand of the Father. I don't think you would find Him in the stained glass crowd unless it might be one time to overturn the coffee tables and soft chairs of hypocrites. Jesus came to save the lost. As the well didn't need healing. He would be with the "social outcasts".

Nicely put question, but rhetorical. It is derivative of the parable of the "good Samaritan". We should see a bit of the Creator, Father/God in all men, we don't want to get "involved". so you walk right by on the other side

Our Lord Jesus Christ was (physically) described by a famous unbeliever, the Jewish historian Josephus, who was an eye witness to how he looked.

I've read his very flattering physical description of Jesus. Even an unbeliever testified to his attraction.

If only his heart had been attracted to Jesus' message of "good news". Don't you dare walk right by on the other side...Jesus is THE WAY!!!

If any, I follow the 1st century CE Rabbi who taught a return to Torah. I like to give the pompous religious leaders a hard time using the scriptures to point out that they follow man not G-d.

I follow the JESUS who loves me who came down on the earth for a sinner like me, the JESUS who died on the cross taking all my sins away and rose on the third day, the JESUS who is coming to take all who await HIS coming.

--THE JESUS that I would follow is that of the son of his Father & God Jehovah:
--IN THE INCIDENT with Mary Magdalene, please note his proper expression:
(John 20:17-18) “. . .Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’” 18 Mary Mag′da·lene came and brought the news to the disciples: “I have seen the Lord!” and that he said these things to her.”

--IF HE were here on earth , I would pay him the due respect he deserves and still only Worship as he would , his Father , Jehovah God!
