I keep having the strangest symptoms and need to get checked but I was wondering what type of test (blood, urine, colonoscopy) they do to find out if you have Ulcertive Coltis or IBS. Anyone know?

GI series- xrays of stomach with barium- a fluid you drink to show your stomach and intestines
possibly a barium enema--which is done with barium to show the colon or they may go right for the colonoscopy and definitely blood test work up...............I've had all of them and none are painful or shameful.......go see a good doctor, I hope you are feeling better and everything is NOT serious.

If you have some gastrointestinal symptoms you need to check with your doctor. If you have some alarm features as bloody diarrhea, cramp, fever maybe you need some endoscopic studies to figure out was happen
