Babysitting (as you expected)
Okay, go to your local red-cross. They happen to have a program that shows you how to take care of babies and infants in all situations. Its also a good idea to get certified in adult and child/infant CPR and AED use. The red cross has a course on that too. Just think how good it would be for a parent to know that thier babysitter has been trained by the red-cross to take care of ANY situation.
Well, how about advertising yourself. But the best way to get started is going to the red-cross, they will help you alot.
BTW they give you a card that certifies that you have taken and passed the three courses (they come in forms of cards) These you can carry in your purse, and give a parent if they need proof that you have done what you say you have. And make sure that you go for updated training. Information for CPR and AED changes almost yearly, its a good idea to get updated. I believe your AED doesn't expire for three years, though your CPR is only valid for a year. Make sure that you check up when your card expires. Sorry i am not sure how long the babysitting certification is valid

Hope this helps

If you want to babysit, run an ad in your local newspaper or buyer's guide. Or you could apply for a job as a dishwasher in a cafe or restaurant. another option is to do laundry in a nursing home. Here are some other options:

-start your own business if you are creative, making & selling greeting cards
-fast food like McDonalds
-feed animals and clean cages for a veterinarian
-tutor younger children
-maid in a motel
- watch want ads in the paper for jobs you can do

Here is some advice: when you do get a job, put half of your earnings into a savings account. If you do that with every bit of money you ever get, you will be rich before you are 30

Best wishes!

Ok, you need to go to a commercial area, and go into every store like Rite Aid, clothing stores, food places, etc., and say you want to fill out a job application. Even if they say they are not hiring, say you still want to fill out an application in case they happen to need someone. And dress in a nice outfit that looks put together but not too dressed up, and take out any weird piercings. Look like a respectable kid.

You will need your social security number, three references (you can put down friends of the family or teachers or something) and their phone numbers. On the application, when they ask what kind of job you are seeking, write "anything available", and do not write anything in the "wage requirements" area.

Once someone hires you, you will need to attain working papers from your high school counselor or school district and be approved (pretty much everyone is). Remember to apply at a lot of places so someone calls you back.

Step one...
dress for sucess. I won't even read an application unless the applicant is clean, hair well kept CLOTHES IRONED and has neat handwriting (make sure everything is spelled correctly)
Step two...
Applying for and looking for a job is a full-time job.
Start and stop at the same time everyday.
Be organized..
Step three...
Look at people who are working..
Is that what you want?
A hair net flipping burger's
or a teller at a bank
Where you go and what you do is up to you..
Do you have to walk to work? Do you have transportation?
All of these things can make you or break you but what ever you do do not expect anyone to do anything for you
Do it all yourself.
Step four.
Don't ever give up
Peace out

baby sitting is more if you know someone...

i would say apply at a mall, most first jobs can be had in retail stores or fast food...

other than that, i would also suggest placing an ad in the paper saying you are an available short-term babysitter, or see if there are already ads in there for that...

i would also try some stores like wal-mart or target.

most stores like that, and the ones in the mall look for fresh faces as it improves their image.

just be sure when you start that you go all out and show them you want to work, or they will never take you seriously.

good luck!

I think that it is great that you want to start working... That is a HUGE step in growing up... You could put an ad in the paper or talk to friends at school... Go to your local College and put up flyers with your info on it... Make sure you tell your mom where you are going and if anyone calls. Make sure someone knows where you are at all times. I hope I could help and good luck...

Mowing lawns is not that bad, good exercise as well as some money. How about delivering newpapers that would mean early in the morning. Supermarket baggers, and alot of home builders hire young people to stand with their signs that shows advertising for the homes/or condos that they built and have for sale.

Good Luck

When I was a kid my dad helped me print up fliers advertising the fact that I was available to babysit, but you could also print flyers saying you are available to clean houses, shovel driveways, anything that someone might need help with around the house. Just walk around your neighborhood and hand them out door to door, which will give you a chance to meet prospective customers and get your foot in the door. make a good impression and they might even reccomend you to some one if they don't have kids themselves. just mention on the flyer times you are available, whether or not you have references, phone number (obviously), and that pay is negotiable, or what you would like to be paid.

once you turn 16 try putting a little ad in the paper and see if anyone responds. mowing grass isnt so bad! older people need alot of help with stuff too so you can make up your own ad explaining you need a job and are open to working for them if they need the help and put them in peoples mailboxes. theres lots of creative ways to help you get out there you just gotta think!!!

If your wanting to baby-sit, put up flyers, post things on the internet, to local areas. Wait for a reply. Make sure you know what to do in an emergency.
Krogers is also a good start to XD.
