My vehicle will mainly be used for daily driving, but I will also use it to go camping/fishing/hunting. I want to have 4x4 or awd so i can still get to work when it snows, but it would be a waste of money to get a large truck or SUV. Ford is getting rid of the ranger next year(thats when im getting my vehicle). what does everyone think?
This is what I was thinking......

Jeep Wrangler- But Ive heard its unsafe and having stalling problems.
Toyota tacoma or Nissan frontier- but too expenisve for automatic and 4x4

You can't go wrong with a Nissan or Toyota truck. Once its paid off, you will drive it FOREVER.

As for new cars I would say anything really is dependable, it's just a matter of price and comfort. I prefer a vehicle a few years old and mainstream if you are going to take it off-road. Assume it will be damaged.

I don't know what your budget is but if you like camping I'd recommend a Honda Element. We just bought a CR-V this year and it's been the best car we've ever owned. Honda makes good cars that really hold their value.

I have the dodge nitro and love it! It is reasonably priced, great in snow and has 4 X 4.
Great on gas mileage too.

Personally, I have been extremely happy with my Subarus - they are AWD. Never had a problem with either.
