I don't want any rude answers, or anyone telling me that I shouldn't sell them because they are mutts...or about all the dogs in shelters. So only reasonable answers please!!

I have a purebred Shiba Inu that I payed 1400$ for, and a purebred Poodle I payed 400$ for. This is the 2nd liter of puppies. I charged 50$ before because they were mutts. I did some research on the internet and found I could charge about 300$ for them.
I was wondering if 200$ would be a reasonable price. The first liter everyone wanted these puppies, they are absolutely adorable (even though they are not purebreds) they have the cutest face...I kept one of them and when everyone seen him they wanted him, asked if there was more, everyone wants these puppies.
I'm not trying to make a "profit" or treating my dogs/puppies as a product, I payed alot for my dogs, and feel that 200$ is a reasonable price, just asking for opinions. If you want to see pictures you can E-mail me Stuckinyourheart@yahoo.com

So this is the so called designer dogs. peronally I would only pay 50.00 tops for them to cover the shots and worming providing you are doing that before they go home with people. the thing you have to remember is do you want to place them in homes or do you want to be stuck with them. designer dogs are not all they are cracked up to be. One "designer dog" breeder here in seattle was shut done because she would not lower the price of her laberdoodles and so she had to many. Ask yourself this Why did I breed the dogs. If you answer was to make money then please get them fixed. Do you know that for every time you female gose into heat she is at a greater risk of dieing from cancer. Did you know everytime you breed your dog you take a year off her life!! Please spay your pets

Charge the $50 as before. Even though the parents are purebred, it doesn't mean that the mutt puppies are worth money. In the end, they are still mutts.

Or charge the price you've spent on them so far. The price you charge for the puppies should be no more than what you've put into them (food, vet visits, shots, etc.) Have they seen a vet yet? Will they start getting their vaccinations soon?

Here's a few links I recommend anyone interested in breeding to read:

Oh you can ask a question and then try to limit the answers to something you want to hear but anyone can answer anyway they feel is appropriate. You are a selfish person that has absolutely no business breeding dogs. You are the reason that cities and counties must have shelters, unrestrained breeding by any idiot that has a male and female dog. Unfortunately there are just as many ignorant people willing to pay for your puppies. That is why California is considering a law that requires all dogs and cats (there are exceptions) to be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.

You already asked this question once.. You are asking in a public forum, you can't tell people they have to give reasonable answers only.. I can't tell people to only ask reasonable questions obviously, so why would you be able to expect only reasonable answers???

They are mixed breed dogs, they are worth only $50.00 Anything else and you are ripping people off.. They are NOT purebred puppies, they MIGHT be products of purebreds of questionable backgrounds, but the puppies themselves are MUTTS. They are worth $50. and that's only cause it's bad to give puppies away for free!

Why the hell are you breeding her? You have to realize there are so many dogs being killed in shelters because there are too many dogs and not enough homes. Yet you bring another litter into this world to reproduce again. Backyard breeders like yourself turn my stomach. Do everyone including your poor dog a favor and GET HER SPAYED with some of that money your trying to make off of her.

STOP using her as a money making puppy machine. UGH!!

In case you didn't know (and I KNOW you don't have a clue) the only reason to breed is for the betterment of the breed. And look at you they aren't even a breed. Still trying to make money. YOU GET ME SICK!

people have already answered this.

The point of breeding your dogs is not to "get your money back" on the purebreds you bought. you bought those dogs because you wanted them. You dont buy a movie or CD and make copies to sell to "get your money back" on them.. breeding should be done to improove or preserve a breed.

All you are doing is making mutts to sell. There are plenty of mixed breed dogs in the shelters.. I dont mean to be rude, just honest. Anyone who would pay several hundred for a mixed breed is a moron.

You are not going to create a new "breed".. it takes years of selective breeding to create a breed.

Like I said.. I would only pay $200 if it had its shots, wormed, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Otherwise, $50 tops, and at that, it better have shots and worming.

Okay, if you want to totally ignore the fact that your a back yard breeder and what your doing is wrong, then do this.

Call them something cute and fancy, like Shiba-Poos. Then tell your buyers that there a new breed you created yourself. Tell them it's a super rare breed. Oh and since the puppys are small, call them teacups or mico mini, and perhaps say that there baby doll faced. Then you could get around $1000 - $2000 and you could get your moneys worth! Because who cares about the puppys health anymore? It's all about how cute they are, right? Right!

If you're not looking to make a profit (even make back some of the money you spent on your pooches), then sell them for what you've put into them... food, shots, worming; stuff like that. Sorry if it's a rude answer, but you do seem like you want to make a profit is all... or else you wouldn't be comparing prices on the internet.

A mutt is only worth the cost of the shots and food you paid for them. Just because people irresponsibly breed mutts and sell them online doesn't make it a 'reasonable' price, it just makes it a price idiots will charge and idiots will pay
Spay and neuter your dogs, it is stupid to breed mutts while mutts DIE in rescues every day. And you ARE trying to make money or you wouldn't keep breeding and selling dogs! You're just like every other puppy mill and backyard breeder, full of excuses for what you're doing which is WRONG.

If you are not treating your dogs as a product, why are you breeding? The reason you don't want to hear about all the dying dogs in this country is that you are a backyard breeder trying to justify your crimes. I WILL say it-have your dogs fixed and get a job.
