Only if the judge is in a really good mood that day and appreciates the joke.

Actually you didnt say how fast YOU were going in that 40 mph zone. The ticket was for 60, but you may have been going between 60 and 64 ( or it would have been given for 65 in increments of 5). All in all, you were over 20 over the speed limit, and it is only speculation or hearsay that it was a 20 mile and hour tailwind....not provable, like the reading on the radar gizmo is.

I got stopped once for speeding as I was daydreaming and cruising---and the officer told me after 15-20 minutes pondering that he had not tested or calibrated his tuning fork for the radar that morning, so just let me off with a warning.

Good luck, humerous slant on the story.

If the judge has a sense of humor...maybe but I highly doubt it.

Your car has brakes! Next time, I suggest you use them. Also, keep that lead foot off the accelerator.

A tailwind?? Oh please...I thought I had heard some good excuses.

No, you should have been going 20 mph.

Hey if nothing else the judge and bailiff should get a good laugh out of it. Maybe it'll put him in a good mood. Of course the possibility exists that maybe he'll get real pissed huh?

No. You are not driving an airplane. The speedometer reads ground speed not airspeed.

You can fight the ticket. I don't think you can win. After all your speedometer is not an airspeed indicator.

no you should have just driven slower. A 20mph tailwind would not increase your speed 20mph.
