Yes! Fortunately, they have made Frontline a non-prescription medication. I will advise you that it is much cheaper to buy it online from one of the pet supply/prescription stores.

I've bought Frontline Plus and Capstar from my vet. before and they had to have the animal on file that she was a patient there. But, it probably just depends on the vet. Call ahead and ask.

I would make an appointment, so your kitten can get checked out while you're there. But yes, I suppose a vet can't turn you down for Frontline if you're paying for it.

Age and weight are a huge factor for dosing with flea meds. Tell the vet your cat's age and weight and ask what they recommend. The last thing you want to do is overdose your cat. These are dangerous chemicals. Even sick cats aren't supposed to receive flea meds in many cases, because of the strength in the meds.

You should tell the vet the age and approx. weight of the kitten, that way they can give you the right dosage. Plus, imo, Advantage works a lot better...I have 22 cats and never had a flea problem once I used Advantage. Of course, your vet might not carry Advantage.

That is a bit young. So you might want your kitty checked before you buy it.
