As with most low cost carriers these days they are very strict with overages on baggage. The amount charged seems to be out of proportion to the weight that you are over. I think that they supplement their air fares. As you can see here. they only allow 20 kilos and charge almost $9 dollars US per kilo for overages. If they charged that for my body weight the flight would cost me Way over $900 bucks. A little out of proportion wouldn't you say. Also it give you two answers in the quote below. It says that you can carry up to 20K and then below it says you can carry 50k. So What is the right weight? Here is the quote from the airline.

Are there restrictions on the number and weight of baggage pieces allowed?
Each passenger (except infants up to 2 years) can check in items of baggage up to a combined weight of 20kg – the same as the amount allowed by traditional airlines!

If you happen to exceed this limit, you will simply be charged a supplement of £5/€7/11CH/
8,50USD/212CZ/56NO/67SE per kg per European flight. For flights within Germany this charge adds up to €8.33 (incl. 19% VAT).

In total, a maximum of 50kg per person can be conveyed.

So I think that you would be charged for the 30 K overage and that charge would be $270. How much was your ticket going to cost?
