Freeze it, only thaw out what you need. Bread thaws out rather quickly. If you don't want to freeze it, keep it in the refrigerator.

If you buy always the same type o bread and yo think it molds too quickly, try to change the baker. I mean it seriously.
It depends on handful of factors, how quickly the bread starts to mold and first one of them I wouldn´t underestimate is the quality of wheat your baker uses.
If he buys some low cost stuff that contains too much fungi spores, stop buying it.
If you like that particular type of bread just go to another baker, if such bread is popular in your area, there is a huge chance that more bakers do that type or something very similar.
Other factors influencing how quickly the bread molds are as follows:
- Volume of the water in the bread (after baking) - maybe your bread just contains too much water,
- External moisture in the air - the wetter the environment is the faster the mold develops;
- Volume of mold spores in the air - if you experience mold development frequently (in room corners, under the windows, etc...) then maybe the concentration of mold spores in your house is too high (in that case get rid of the existing molds - chemically - ventilate frquently to circulate the air in the rooms, try to reduce the interior moisture).
By the way do your children have any skin problems? Children are very sensitive and if living constantly exposed to fungi spores they will suffer (usually it starts with skin rash).
If none of the above is your case, just freeze the bread and in a breadbox only store as much as you can eat in max. 2 days.

this may sound really lame but i separate bread sometimes. put 4 to 6 pieces in a Ziploc and freeze it. then when you need it, let it thaw. other than that i put my bread in the fridge. bread is like banana's, if you don't eat them they get yucky real quick. hope i helped!

If it is already sliced I would freeze it and just take out what you need at that time. If it has to thaw before you use it it only takes a few minutes anyway.
