After a year of breaking up,he sent to say sorry and asked for forgiveness and I felt it was just to take the guilt off his shoulders. And I replied I forgived him coz it was a mistake to be rush into the engagement.
Now he has sent another e-mail, I can quote the following, PLZ be patient to read and tell me wat do you think:
"I'm sorry that I wasn't your knight in shining armour. But I think any man that will be with you will be the lucky person...
And I know it may not be possible but I wish that one day we can sit and have coffee and talk about politics and other things.
Maybe not in this lifetime but maybe in the next
lifetime when we return as cats we will be able to do
this! .."
How does it sound to you? Does this mean he wants me back?

Knowing from experience, as I have been in a couple relationships that have ended due to one person rushing the other or any number of other excuses, it could honestly go either way. take a chance and speak to him. if he is complimenting you alot and seeming unusually down about stuff in his life he probably does want you back. if he acts like your best friend would act with you than thats probably all he wants. Relationships can get tricky at times and majority of people get really close to someone whom they are in a relationship with. when that ends you feel like you are missing something and you start thinking about all the great times together. Some people try to rekindle the flame because they either realize they really were in love with that person or they try to be friends with that person because they realize that even though they were not right together as a couple they were awesome as friends. Sometimes you can be suprized how great of a friend an ex-lover can be. they understand you. they already know your past. and almost always they will be the most honest to you about things. Do I look fat? should I date this guy/girl? some questions just aren't answered honestly by some friends but an Ex will typically answer with the highest amount of honesty for better or worse. just remember that a friendship like that is hard to come by and not the easiest to create. there will mor likely than not be some sexual tension between you two. but once you get past it you get this great friend

CATS??
He doesn't want you back. He wanted to clear his guilty conscience and you did that for him, and now he's backing out on you once again. Send him an email that says, "Meow -- in cat language, that means goodbye" and then don't ever talk to him again. What a jerk! When we return as cats...oh brother!

I would take up the coffee offer, I'm not sure what his letter means but go and see what he has to say. BUT not if the breakup was over something really bad though, like abuse or something.

No, it doesn't sound like he wants you back. He just wants to be able to meet you without hard feelings, if you should ever run into each other again.

He's asking you if you want him back without saying it right out cause he still cares about you and misses you.

He comes to apologize to you, then tries to get pity in that letter because you don't want him. He is subtly telling you that he wants you back.
