Humility is not needed for what does not exist. The Rapture is actually called Darbyism -- invented by a mere man named Darby in the mid-1800's.

All the Bible says about being ready for Jesus to return (the rapture) IS Just make sure your not backsliding or a luke-warm christian. The Bible says that God will spit out anyone who's luke warm and half heatedly living for God. And make sure that you confess your sins so that your conscience is clear. And the Bible really talks about abiding in Him so we don't have to shrink back at His coming. Read John 14 and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John. It explains it all.

It is not a case of being rapture ready.
To be in this world, but not of this world is a huge undertaking of spiritual growth.
Humility is only one of many understandings one needs.
There is compassion also, overcoming anger, sorrow, disappointment, guilt, fear.
To live as bliss in this world is a "many lifetimes" aspiration, and is not something you just wake up with one morning.
But you can, if you are available.
Available to the divine,
Moving in grace.

When I hear about people trying to become "rapture ready" I think of all the people who stockpiled on canned food and sat around waiting for the Y2K disaster to happen. No such luck there.

I don't know how you can have humility and be so sure you deserve Heaven. Look how many people (according to the Church) deserve Hell.
Mother Teresa, after all she gave up in life, after all she did for people, after all her good works, still said that she "didn't know if she would make it" (to Heaven).

Humility has nothing to do with it. God makes it quite clear in scripture the "requirements". If you meet them (they're very easy) you're ready.

don't hold your breath.
I take that back. If you believe nonsense, then you are permitted to do us all a favor and hold your breath for at least 10 minutes; use plastic if it helps.
