I will be honest with you.
Tattoos hurt. Some people just tolerate the pain differently.
So you have to understand a few key points-
1)It's permanent!
2)It hurts no matter where it is done at
So, I would advise you to get it put where you really want it. If you truly want it, the pain shouldn't be an issue. It's permanent, and a few years down the road, you don't want to be saying: "I wish I got my little treble clef (cute choice, by the way) on my ------ instead of my ------."
Take your time deciding, you'll find that the pain shouldn't be and issue, and you'll really be satisfied with your choice.
Good Luck!

Courtney, great question and I will be delighted to help you!! Firstly, when you were asking where you should get it done I honestly thought you meant who should do it for you. Straight away I wondered what country you lived in. If you live in Ireland I highly recommend Badger. He has his place in Bray, Co. Dublin. I don't know how he does it, but he honestly doesn't hurt at all!!
So the first ones I got I wanted hid so I got them on both hips, where my bathing togs hid them. I since got lots more, and am now about 30% covered.
Lets get to your question. Where do you want to have them? You could get them on your lower back, where they will be seen only when you wear a backless dress. But be warned, this is one of the most painful places for girls to get a tat. I guess you have already thought of your upper back, perhaps on either or both shoulder. This is only visible when you wear an appropriate dress. There is also you legs, where i have some nice se xy ones done. But this would not be recommended for girls. So, honey, at the end of the day it is up to you. I wish I could talk to you so I could explain, or help you a lot more. Just remember, unlike true love, a tattoo IS forever.
A thought for you for today: Man is not what he thinks he is, but what he thinks, he is.
Good luck my darling, live safely, I wish you to be happy for ever. The best way to be happy is to make other people happy. Just before I sign off, do me one favour, please: smile! Bye. X

I got my first tattoo on the top of my foot. I love the placement. Similar to you I wanted a location where I could show it off when I wanted to but cover it up at work or certain occasions. If you're a nurses assistant you probably where close toed shoes and if the tattoo is on your foot you won't see it! :o) I have people notice mine often when I'm out casually in flip flops or heels. It does hurt - but I don't imagine there is anywhere on your body that isn't going to hurt.

Im thinking your lower back but off to the right or left side because when you wear a regular shirt at work you cant see it but when you wear a shirt thats not like a t shirt or something you can see it. Or on your shoulder but that will probably hurt more. You can also ask the tattoo artist.
Oh and I LOVE the idea. :)

Any place with more body fat hurts less. I would not suggest an anklet or bracelet for first tattoo. To pick a spot dress in your work clothes and look for some place that isn't exposed and make your decision.

You could do the ever propular "tramp stamp" on your lower back. I however will be getting one on my upper back in between my shoulder blades just to be different. And both of these can be hiden while working or shown off when out! I love the originality of your tattoo idea!

I saw a girl in one of my classes with a treble cleff in the middle of a rose. She had it in the center of her back, right in the middle and half way down. It wasn't just above her crack like 94.63% of girls tattoos, and it looked very elegant and feminine.
I agree with Kris*
Remember, Pain is temporary.

It is going to hurt where ever you get it. How about in between your shoulder blades. Not AS paihful there. Added info, I think the lower back looks trashy.

I have a better idea. Why not spend your hard earned cash on a good shrink and go fix your head.
