Women have had contraception and knowledge about how conception works since before I was born. So why are there so many unwanted pregnancies?
Really, how stupid can two people be? -And NO, this is not a challenge!
-And NO, I do not care to hear about how your mistake is somehow OK.
-And BTW, I believe that an UNWANTED PREGNANCY is a mistake, not the resulting child. Just to be clear.

Jovan J-you must be one of the stupid breeders I was talking about.
beeb-who are you talking about? Surely you do not think that I have a problem with procreation. I have a problem with idiots procreating.

cityy.-seriously, WTF. I asked a question because I wanted to know the answer. BTW, acknowledging problems is the first step to solving them. As of this writing, I have 13 answers. That is 13 people acknowledging the problem.

No, it's not just you. Check out the movie "Idiocracy". It's the result of stupid people breeding more than rich, educated people. It's supposed to be the future. All people do is drink Gatorade, they even water their crops with it.
Oh and "BTW", since when did you become god? Who are you to judge anyone? You're right about one things, babies are not mistakes. What about people who are raped or molested? If that's not a mistake I don't know what is. It's not your place to come on here and rant about other people's decisions.
AND JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE MAKES A MISTAKE DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY'RE STUPID. I'M SURE THAT YOU HAVE MADE MORE THAN ONE MISTAKE IN YOUR LIFE. DOES THAT MAKE YOU STUPID?
I've never had an abortion and I don't think that I ever would but I can't judge other people for what they do. How can you really criticize anyone for a making a decision in a situation that YOU have never been in?

I know a single mom that has 5 children that were "mistakes". Don't get me wrong, she loves all of her kids and is a very good mother. She takes care of them all, with financial assistance from the fathers and has never been on any kind of state aid. I know accidents happen, but I agree with you, wouldn't you figure out the birth control thing after the first couple of kids. I'm not being judgemental, I just think it's a little weird.

First, before you call others stupid, check your grammar.
Second, the only 100% effective birth control method is not having sex. However, you are correct that a lot of these pregnancies occur because the method of birth control was, "I hope that we don't get pregnant."
Those things said. I think that your stance about the pregnancy being a mistake and not the child is a good start. What do you think we should do about the problem?

Fortunately for the world it will be their children who inherit the earth, not condo droids who turn their noses up at procreation.
ETA I probably misunderstood your complaint. I haven't noticed any trend toward low IQ among the pregnant young teenagers I know (and that is a significant number) Usually they want children, no matter what others want for them. If anything they are emotionally abused or abandoned to need to find love the way they do. Also I have a child who is developmentally delayed and get very defensive when words like "stupid" and "idiot" are thrown around. I'm sorry.

I agree that there are far too many uneducated people who 'find' themselves pregnant. Who is really at fault when a 13 year old ends up pregnant? Why do schools teach that the only form of birth control is abstinence? Where are these kids parents?

There is plenty of knowledge out there to be had it's just that parents aren't sharing that knowledge with their children. And if the parents are sharing knowledge with their children, they are only teaching them that indiscriminate sex is okay. No one is being taught self control, or that sex should be an expression of love not just a physical release.

I 'answered' a question early that was supposedly by a 13 year old girl. She wanted to know if she should get an abortion because she didn't know who the daddy was and didn't even know how she got pregnant. She claimed she'd NEVER been involved in any "sexual activities". Hmmmm..... Either these kids are INCREDIBLY uneducated about what "sex" is, they are all big fat liars, or they are so bored they just sit around acting like bone-headed twits to amuse themselves. *sigh*

Yes, but if you look at the amount of stupid people vs. intelligent people in the universe, you'll see that it's just the odds that more stupid people than intelligent people would breed, accidentally or otherwise.

I think that people should use the knowlege that we have now to prevent unwanted pregnancys. There are way to many people using abortions as birth control instead of just taking birth control or using condoms. I don't think that just because you arent intelligent you shouldn't have kids (as your headline says).
