I am 20 years old, I found out I had PCOS April 2007. The only sign i had was a severely irregular periods, other than that i didn't fit the type. I mean i have no facial/body hair, I do not have acne, I am a little underweight( 5'2 107lbs) ect.
Anyways my doctor has just put me on metformin, today as a matter of fact and i would LOVE to hear success stories from woman who have gotten pregnant while using metformin alone..

I am definitely what you are looking for! :)

I was diagnosed with PCOS because of my irregular periods and my sister had been diagnosed with it previously. I had very minimal signs- only 5 lbs overweight, no acne or excessive facial/body hair. I started Metformin in February 06 when I was 26 and got pregnant in June 06. I can't remember the dosages, but I want to say I started on 500 mg a day and had jumped up to 1000 in May, which apparently worked! My doctor had me continue on Metformin for the first trimester, although some doctors recommend stopping usage. I had a healthly little girl in Mar 07. I did a little bit of charting to learn how my body works, but I was not religious with it and did not use anything else to get pregnant. You should start taking prenatal vitamins now- just like a multivitamin if you're not pregnant, but essential once you get the good news.

Congrats! You've taken a huge step towards conceiving!!

Various studies and reports have favorable conclusions on using metformin for PCOS. You are still young so you got high chance to gain from its benefits. I remembered after marriage I found having multiple fibroid in my ovary and was told to have least chance of pregnancy. Without any treatment I had my first baby which the doctor believed it was just by chance. I had another child and by then all the fibroid I had just disappeared . I have 4 kids by now. Though your case is different, your age is an advantage so keep trying. Good luck!
