I started wearing a bra 1 month ago. It sucks, it's hot, I asked mom to get started in the fall but she said I need one and couldn't wait. She's nice, a great mom, I really love her but when she makes a decision she doesn't back off. I complained, complained just to get some kisses and a soft "no way hun, you have to get used, love ya". I promised I'd wear and wouldn't take it off behind her back. Yesterday I was at a friend's home w/ other girls, it was hot and they took off their bras. They told me to take off mine too, no one would see us. I said I promised mom to keep it on, they laughed, said Ok, it's up to you. I called mom and asked her if I could take my bra off, she said Come on, you call me at work to ask something like that! But then she laughed and just said No way hun. I obeyed. But would it be OK if I took it off without asking her? No one would see. Can't I take it off when I'm in my room? Is this a disobedience? Sometimes we pay a price for being a good girl

What the hell? I'm an 11 year old girl and my bra size is C34. Why are you so small chested? I'm bigger chested than you. What are you still in a training bra? I laugh at you.

Hey there hun. I know exactly how you feel. I started developing when I was 8 but actually wanted to wear a bra when I was 10, because that's when they were actually big enough to need one. My step dad didn't break and let me wear one till I was 12 and in a C, but by then, I was so used to going without that I didn't want to wear one anymore. Now, I'm 17 and suffer the fact that my breasts are a D (back down from a DD since I lost weight) and they droop more than they should for my age.

If it makes it easier for you, wear ones that don't have an under wire, even try sports bras till you get more comfy with them. A bright side to sports bras, aside from the fact that they're comfy, is that if it just gets too hot, take your shirt off since it's hotter than the bra is and for the most part, the sports bra can act as a racer back crop top, lol. Also, try shirts with a built in bra, they tend to be alot more comfortable too.

If you have more questions or would like some recommendations, feel free to e-mail me any time you want!

Some 12 year olds are bigger breasted than others. If your Mom tells you to wear your bra, there is probably a very good reason for it. Your Mom sounds very reasonable and level headed...she is not making you wear it for torture.

Perhaps your Mom wants you to get used to it now, before you start school, as she doesn't want you being uncomfortable while in class.

Maybe talk to your Mom about a compromise. Ask her if you can wear it at certain times of the day and take it off at a certain time in the afternoon/evening and not put it back on until the next day.

It never hurts to ask and I am sure your Mom would understand why if you explain why you don't want to wear it all the time.

I know bras can be a real bother, but they do have their purpose. Anywho, it is crazy to say that you couldn't take it off in your own bedroom. If you are by yourself, in your room, and don't want to wear it then don't. Just make sure you put it on before you leave the room so you don't make your mom upset. She doesn't tell you, you have to wear it to bed does she? B/C that would be crazy too.

well if you're in your room alone...what's the point in wearing one? when you go out, yeah. but when you're at home there's no one you're trying to impress. but later you're going to HAVE to wear one. but like i don't wear one when i'm at home just being lazy. and your bra is supposed to be comfertable and not hot. so find a nice cute comfertable one. and once you get used to it you don't even notice it's on. i had mine brake at school and i never noticed until something felt a little too breezy :) but i had on a cami with a bra attached so it wasn't notciable!

You don't have to wear it if you don't feel comfortable in it. I remember the time when I had to wear a bra. I didn't really feel a thing though.

If you're developing you want to wear the bra for support, because otherwise it's possible that your breasts will sag later in life.

I don't understand why a 12 yr old girl has to wear a bra when she doesn't want to.

Sometimes you have to follow your own course . If you want to take it off when no one is around, do so.
