You can make giant pillows in ball designs, and the football shape will be an excellent shape for an especially cuddly pillow/backrest.

You can get baseball gloves and put tiny stuffed animals inside, set them on a table.

You can get real baseballs and drill into them for finials, which are the decorative ends and tops of curtain rods and lamps, bedposts.

You can install pegs into a baseball bat giving places for coats and hats and backpacks.

You can paint a rug to look like a ball field or court. If the floor is hardwood or laminate, tape down smaller scale markings from a basketball court.

A basketball net and smaller scale backboard might be used for a laundry hamper. With or without the sports theme, make sure that for a kids hamper, ditch the lid so they can toss clothes in, saving steps makes it easier.

For a headboard, you might make a replica of a basketball backboard, a soccer goal, or a scoreboard. You could also paint these designs on the slats of blinds on the window.

Jerseys on the wall in frames will be great for art. Can you find one that is autographed?

Have a trophy made pronouncing him MVP.

You might also define certain areas as a dugout...for toys complete with a storage bench.

Does your son have his own bathroom? Deck it out as a locker room.

Speaking of lockers you can use them for storage of anything. Careful of anything metal due to sharp edges.

Look for bureau knobs that are shaped like a baseball, football etc. Use a wooden baseball bat and put dowels in as a coat rack and mount it to the wall or mount it to a diamond shaped piece of wood and stand it upright. Frame baseball or football cards as a picure on his wall. Hang up an old sport shirt on the wall. Just don't over do it. If you do, he will have to have discussions every night about what is what and why. If there is too much you will be talking for a long time!

install a basketball goal over a clothes hamper...then putting things where they need to go will be a fun game

drill holes in baseballs and use them for table legs, drawer pulls, etc.

make a simple canopy over the bed with a soccer net...or as a headboard

make table legs or a lamp post with baseball bats (you could wrap a few bats around a store bought floor lamp pole and tie them on with rope)

you can cut any of those balls in half with a saw, drill them into the wall, and put a piece of wood ontop for decorative shelves (if they deflate just fill them with newspaper or something)

frame some jerseys in glass and hang on wall for art or make shadow boxes for sports memorabilia

use bold primary colors for paint and fabrics (red & white, blue & orange)

get a plain toy box and paint it with sports theme and replace the handle with a ball to open it
