that's a funny thought. I would not think about hitchhiking in this day and age. There are too many violent people around now a days. Maybe you can trade it in for a less expensive car or truck that eats less gas.

I think you got the Hummer because it is fun or fancy looking. There isn't much status in it if you can't afford the gas. It sounds like you need to make some decisions and take some action.

Right after Hurricane Katrina, I personally bought myself a Honda SilverWing 600cc motorscooter. It will do 120 MPH and gets about 60 MPG, and looks really good.
The police department in Houston is loading up on the Yahama 400cc scooters.

I do not recommend attempting to hitch-hike. In most places it is unlawful, and it is mostly dangerous. You would not be able to rely upon getting around because people are reluctant to pick up hitchhikers.

you're taking a big risk by hitchhiking, but if you're into thrill seeking then go for it. But i would suggest that if you need the money, sell your hummer and get something more affordable.

It is a great plan to get you mugged, raped, killed

and if you are lucky, the police will pick you up before that happens, and give you a lecture that will roast your ears.
