This is what God says:

"Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. '

Hebrew 13:4

Just a few verses earlier in the same book we are told that our God is a consuming fire.

It's up to you what you want to do with this statement. Personally, I can't afford to invite his judgment.

"But to this one I will look,
To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word."
Isaiah 66:2

"why are there so many christians who have premarital sex, over and over and over again?"

where did you get "so many" from? Are you just assuming? How many is "so many"?

Regardless, Christians aren't perfect. We sin just like anyone else. Some people are weak, some may have convinced themselves that the Bible doesn't really mean what it says, some might be calling themself Christian, etc. There's many reason.

Sex before marriage is sin, plain and simple, and those who do so are going to have to answer for it if they don't ask forgiveness.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/46gML

I'm not going to insult your intelligence with the "true" Christian argument. Instead, let's broaden your question.

If there are NO exceptions for ANY sin, why do Christians still sin?

Answer: Because we're still human. Unfortunately, becoming a Christian doesn't mean that we cease being human. We still have to deal with the same temptations that everyone else does. Some of us give into them. It doesn't mean they're not "true" Christians. It just means they sinned.

I hope this answers your question. I know it seems like a cop-out, but it's the truth.

Repression causes reaction.

Ever hear the terms "Catholic Girl" or "Minister's Daughter"? They don't mean "chaste".

For a good example of the same effect on a different matter: The recently late Tammy Faye Messner in an interview described how she, as a teen, was at a friend's house and tried on some eye makeup, then immediately washed it off before the devil could get into her. She then began questioning (herself) why she couldn't wear makeup, as her father insisted.

You know the end result of her father's repression in that case. It was absolutely comical.

This happens because there are many Christians who believe it's okay (regardless of what a Y! Answers poll might have revealed). You could find people who call themselves Christians who believe in just about anything--we really are about as un-homogenous a group there is.

Christians do a poor job of showing what their faith is all about. We make easy targets of ourselves by aiming so high and falling so low. The religion is based upon forgiveness of sin, and we all abuse this, but we know we shouldn't.

Oh, that premarital sex thing's from the Bible. Christians can't be bothered with the Bible....they are too busy doing important things like loving the sinner and hating the sin....you know, stuff that isn't in the Bible....like having a problem with gays and not divorce...

Simple - Human nature. :) It's human nature to rebel and disobey God's law. Some Christians have a really hard time bringing their flesh under control for whatever reasons.. We all have struggles in different areas of life. We just do the best we can and pray to God for the strength we lack. Fortunately we don't have to be perfect, we just need Christ.

because were still fallen creatures in a fallen world, you may not be able to understand it because it may not be one of the sins that more appeals to you, you may struggle w/ gluttony, or greed, or anger, gossip, need i go on. society says it's OK, and many Christians are so in deep w/ society they ignore God. it's simple it's tragic, it's the human condition
