Not all sins are unintentional and you know it. Is this the excuse you are going to use?

If one goes back to the original hebrew, there are three words that describe transgessions. Without going into the hebrew itself and translations...the terms connote 'sin', 'rebelliousness' and 'iniquity'. What's the difference? Sin is something that an otherwise god-fearing person wouldn't do but unintentionally did it through forgetfulness. Rebelliousness is one who, knowing there is a God and there is punishment for sin, intentionally performs the forbidden act. Iniquity is when one convinces himself that there is no God and thus anything goes.
Of the three, which is the worst? Most would say iniquity followed by rebelliousness and then sin. However, the truth is it is the other way around. Why? Because when an atheist (iniquity) or an apostate (rebelliousness) commit a transgression, the act is considered as being 100% on the individual. For the god-fearing individual to have forgetten about God for that brief moment and done something terrible, then it is viewed not only as an individual act, but a desecration of God's name. For proof, one only need look at the media and see how criminals in general and clergy who commit crimes are treated. In the case of the latter, the entire church the clergy represented is pulled down with the individual.
Thus, to unintentionally do something which is known to be wrong is a greater affront to God, and thus a greater sin that to do it intentionally. If the Bible teaches anything, it is that one needs to thoroughly consider the ramifications of their actions before doing anything....and if there is any question about it, one needs to seek advice on the matter.

Harmartia is "missing the mark" and if one does not even hit the board let alone the target of union with God ,well, thats separation from God or damnation.
When we persist in the state of mortal sin we reject God''s offer of grace and we damn ourselves,we don't need God to do it to us

hamartia
ham-ar-tee'-ah
sin (properly abstract): - offence, sin (-ful).
hamartanoÌ
ham-ar-tan'-o
Properly to miss the mark (and so not share in the prize), that is, (figuratively) to err, especially (morally) to sin: - for your faults, offend, sin, trespass.
Sorry, don't see "unintended mistake" here. Sin is an offense against God, and must be paid for by Christ, or you.

I didn't know that. How cool!
However, sone people "sin" knowingly.
If you sleep with another man's wife ( or another woman's husband), it is more often than not intentional.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
How did you come across this info?
