I want to know which you have the better chance of. I know that your chances of getting a royal flush of hearts in 5 card stud is 1 in 312 million. so what is the chance of winning the Mega Millions lottery with just one ticket? The probability of getting a royal straight flush in hearts is as follows:
You are dealt five cards randomly from a deck.
The desired cards are A, K, Q, J, 10 of hearts.
The chance of being dealt one of the desired cards first is: 5 out of 52
The chance of being dealt one of the desired cards second is: 4 out of 51
The chance of being dealt one of the desired cards third is: 3 out of 50
The chance of being dealt one of the desired cards fourth is: 2 out of 49
The chance of being dealt the fifth desired card is: 1 out of 48
That's (5/52)(4/51)(3/50)(2/49)(1/48)
Which is exactly one out of 2,598,960
So you are about 68 times more likely to get a royal straight flush in hearts out of five cards dealt randomly from a deck as you are of winning Mega Millions with just one ticket.

The odds of being dealt any five cards from a standard deck are 649,740:1, given by: 52*51*50*49*48/5!. That is far less than the odds of winning Mega Millions.

I'll take your word for it, 1 in 312million for royal flush of hearts. If so, the odds are better to win the MegaMillions jackpot, which are about 1 in 176million.
