i have a round trip ticket if i need it changed 2 a 1 way am i the only one who can make that change?

In effect you are canceling a one way ticket. If someone else has your information. Card number, and all info, he or she could probably do it over the phone. They are almost certainly going to want to charge you a fee for changing the ticket and depending on the type of ticket you purchased they might not let you do it at all. Simplest thing to do is call and ask. good luck
