What's the best way to color my hair without making any damage to it?

I have thin light brown hair and I want to make it lighter almoust blond, but I don't want to color it every month because my hair will fall from that much colour.Some advice pleaseee!

You need to highlight it heavy..
Keep conditioned good..
Also a leave in conditioner works well.

First, if you are coloring once a month, there is something wrong to begin with. Most stylists would not recommend coloring more than once every six weeks, and then only for touch-ups. If you are doing it yourself, do have a colorist do it and you will not have to maintain touch-ups nearly as often.

The fact is that if you color your hair it is going to sustain some damage. The best way to deal with that is not to avoid coloring you hair, but to find really good maintenance products.

If you use a great conditioner, one designed to restore health to colored hair, you will be able to have great-looking colored hair.

You could purchase any of these at a Regis or even most private salons. Perhaps your stylist would be able to recommend the best one for your hair color. At any rate, make sure you buy it at a salon, because if you buy it at a discount store you cannot be certain that the formula will be the same as the salon formula.

The key to keeping hair safe month after month is to do your whole head of hair the first time. Then the next month you should only color the new growth, (root), area. Not all of the hair.
Also, color your hair when it is a little on the oily side, the natural oils are good for your hair while coloring. Because your hair is fine, you will want to use a conditioner regularly.

Trust me, get it done professionally. It's worth every penny you'll invest in your appearance. They know all the new techniques and will tell you how to keep it health and maintain it.
It's too risky to randomly do it yourself and you won't like it.
