She sounds a bit like Bonnie Raitt, but I know it's not her. She has a twang to her voice. I'm obsessing over finding this damned song, but I don't remember any lyrics. I have the tune in my head, but I'll be damned if I can remember anything else! She might be a bit obscure.

I bet it's The Story by Brandi Carlile.. or another song by her. She has that strong bluesy southern voice like Bonnie, and some decent guitar work at times. She isn't Bonnie on the slide guitar though.. Ms. Raitt is one of the most underrated slide blues players of our time.

If she sounds somewhat like Bonnie you are probably thinking of Susan Tedeschi. A lot of similar phrasing, etc.

I believe you may be thinking of someone between Joss Stone, Nora Jones, or perhaps another female whose name currently escapes me. Try a search on the word "Lilith". Play around with that one. You may even be thinking about the former lead singer of the Cranberries. She was on a late show recently.
