Every kid that goes to a new school is concerned about getting lost. This is something that teachers expect....because they also felt the same way. See if you can do a tour before school starts. The principal usually encourages that so that new kids do not feel overwhelmed and see if there is a map of the school that you can get so you can study it and know what to expect. The teachers will be out in the halls for the first week or so guiding you to where you need to go.
Good luck!

Maybe you could arrange to visit the school before the school year begins. If you already have your course schedule, you could find each of your classrooms and map out your route so things will be more familiar when school starts. If you can't actually visit the school ahead of time, you can always ask someone familiar with the building to sketch a simple map to get you started. Finally, don't forget that you won't be the only new person there, so lots of others will share your jitters. I'm sure that after just a few days, you will know your way around with no trouble. Good luck!

I think your reaction is normal, all children go through this their first year at a new school. I think that you will be just fine. You will have the opportunity to meet your teachers and see where each of your classrooms are before the first day of school. Don't worry too much you will all be new at this so everyone will be looking for their right class. It usually turns out fine.

You know I had your same thought in my head. When I started 6th grade I was going to the same middle school as my brother. I went there before to see him preform on stuff. The school looked so big because I was comparing it to my elementary school. So anyways on the first day of school my stomach hurt so much cause I was sooo nervous. Before school started I had to see who was my homeroom. It was on the first floor. The good thing is that on the first day your parent got to take you there... but my mom didnt do that. I had to find it on my own which wasnt hard cause it was on the first floor. So basically at homeroom there was alot of people there and everyone there seemed to know everyone else. Except there was this one table full of 6th graders. No one was talking cause no one knew each other. Theres something to look forward to. There are so many other students who are nervous like you.So I sat with them and I got a little calmer. When they gave me my schedule no other person in homeroom had any classes with me. So i kinda felt lonely there. Finding my first class was a breeze. And after that before you go to your second class, just ask the teacher the best way to get there... that way you dont get lost. I was thankful I did that... cause I wouldve took one way to get somewhere, but the teacher told me a shortcut so I could get there faster. The best part was making a really good friend that first day. She was so nice to me and we had all our classes together (except one) Very soon the school didnt look big at all. It looked tiny!! Everyday you are going to take the same way to each of the classes that you wont even think about which way you are going. Basically after that the only thing you have to worry about is making sure you do good in school. I love my middle school... It is so cool to go to different classes in one day instead of staying in one like in elementary! And I love my LOCKER TOO!
Well Have Fun In Middle School!
Oh and remember if you want to make friends just go and talk to someone who isnt talking to anyone else... that way either of you wont feel lonely!

I'm basically dealing with the same thing right now. I'm going into my first year of high school. But I remember when me and my friends first went to middle school. It was a little bit frightening at first, but it gets better really fast! If you have trouble finding a room, ask anyone. Chances are, they'll know where it is.

Every other 6th grader is worried about the same thing. Just remember that the classrooms are numbered and all you have to do is read the numbers. You'll do fine.

so that is no excuse but do you have an open house go around about 3 times knowing where everything is and write done the rooms then ask your family to name a room and then you go to the room at least the ones you go to during the school year
