I'm warning you girls and boys:

Benzoyl Peroxide is the work of the Devil.

I just washed my face with the Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask by Neutrogena, and my face is like a tomato, red, swollen, and my nose is throbbing. I don't have acne or anything like that, but I'm wondering what I can do to soothe the beast that is my face at this point.

Thanks a million.

Some people are very sensitive to benzoyl peroxide. Calm your skin w/ a cool water compress or apply aloe vera gel.

Stay out of the sun because your skin is more prone to sunburn now. Also, apply sunscreen &/or wear a wide brimmed hat whenever you go out for the next few days.

Use a gentle cleanser until the redness subsides. e.g. Dove for sensitive skin or Cetaphil face wash

If you experience some peeling or flaking, apply 1% hydrocortisone cream. You may also want to take some aspirin or acetaminophen to reduce the swelling.

Use a fragrance-free, light moisturizer as needed.

you must be allegic to some of the ingredients there. Pls the safest would be to go to a dermatologist asap. Meanwhile you could maybe just apply a cold towel to your face. Good Luck.
