And before any of you say, "I'm not afraid of homosexuals," realize that the root -phobia, although derived from the Greek word for fear, also carries the meaning of "hating" or "incompatible with," such as hydrophobic molecules which are insoluble in water. So we are not talking fear here, we are talking hatred and/or loathing.

Although my church does teach
Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

My church also teaches Leviticus 19:18 'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

and also Romans 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

So even though homosexuals are committing a sin, I also know that I commit sins, and I don't know anyone else who is free from sin. So I cannot Judge, and I cannot throw the first stone.

Plus I always figure Loving one another is ALWAYS better than hating one another.

One can disagree with any movement, belief, choice, or practice and not have a phobia.
One may disagree with a political party but it is not a phobia.
One may disagree with one side or the other in the abortion debate but it is not a phobia.
One may disagree with a religion but it is not necessarily xenophobia.
One may disagree with a religious book but it is not necessarily a phobia.

I have heard various terms used like homophobia, Christophobia, Islamophobia, etc.
I have personally been a victim of Christophobia.
It's definition is an irrational fear or hatred of Christians.

An irrational fear or hatred of generally defines a phobia.
That said, true Christians do not have irrational fears or hatreds of no one, save for Satan and his fallen.

Nobody hates the homo. Not even God. Most feel the sorrow the homo does...their life is gay but they are sad most of the time. If one has a child if that child goes against the rules written down and goes against the spoken rule. Does the father kill them automatically or nags them all the time? Does he not forgive and have hope ,yet he reminds them of their fault. Loves them and that is what leads one to repentance. Sin is giving up on God too soon. It is not to the strong or the swift; but the one that endures the hardships of life and prays trusting God for and answer. God says fear has torment...gays have fear of rejection and just life in general. Rightly so, because some people that do not have understanding, Kill what they do not understand...Not saying that being gay is right or wrong but it is a condition that majority of men and women do not take delight in having. Romans 1 chapter. Hate is a word similar to love that man just flings off his tongue because it is easier to say than explain. Why do I do the things I do? But really the world as a whole could naturally care less,we all have our phobias and lust. It is when it becomes puplic record and that is when the fear and guilt and gloom. We would prefer God find us out than man. If God sees no one else can tell it unless it comes to the light. The word of God shines a light on the phobias and lust of man....once exposed it can bring about hate or love...that is what kills us. Choices! What does the word of God say...will it says it is a sin tooooooo.

I am leaning towards the Pagan belief system. They are harming no one. As a bonus they are not making a bunch of kids, which makes them somewhat superior to hetero breeding couples who continue to populate an overpopulated planet.

Let people live.
If it is a sin God will take care of them at judgement time.
It is a sin to judge too.
Last I heard two wrongs don't make what you think right.

I'm an atheist - and we're usually pretty accepting. Plus, I'd have to be self-loathing to be homophobic and I'm not.

Cool, we are talking fear, hatred and loathing, none of which I have for homosexuals. I am Christian, and I actually hope that homosexuals repent. I find that the statement I just made, all by itself, can get me called homophobic. I just wonder why I can't disagree with the homosexual lifestyle without getting called homophobic. I do not go around calling people who disagree with Christianity, Christophobic. My only question now is how many thumbs down will I receive for expressing view?

My "religion" does not require that a take a vow of "homophobia." However, the Word of God says that those that practice homosexuality will not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

Romans chapter 1 explains that it is "unnatural" for a man to seek after a man, or a woman after a woman in a sexual way.
