A couple weeks ago I had a car full of a softball team so I qualified for the car pool.. I thought most of the toll booth lanes car pool could go through.. well I guess I was mistaken cause i got a ticket in the mail. Instead of paying $4.00 I now have to pay $29.00... It says I can fight it.. what are my odds of getting out of this ticket????

The bay bridge is right before San Francisco, CA
I went that way because the sign on the far right side said buses only but i guess that's the carpool lane too.. very misleading. I actually stopped at the toll booth and the lady only said good afternoon she didnt say $4 like they normally do..

Where is this located? If you did not pay the toll, and got a violation for failing to do so, most likely you are going to have to pay the $25 penalty in addition to the toll.

If you gave a better location than the "bay bridge" I might have been able to give you more accurate information. A simple google search for "bay bridge" gives bridges located on both the east and west coasts!

If you didn't pay the toll there is no way you'll get out of it. Being qualified to use the car pool lane, does not let you get out of paying any tolls, not only for bridges. All toll roads and bridges, tunnels, that have a toll set up for you must pay to avoid the fines you received. Most toll areas have some kind of "fast pass, sun pass, i pass, e zpass, ext." system in place, where you stay at hwy speeds, and don't have to stop, but to use that you will need to register an account to get a electronic toll tag in your vehicle. In which i'm guessing happend to you. Watch for the signs when coming into a toll area.

The SFBA uses a transponder system for the carpool lanes on toll lanes for bridges You didn't have one. Check with CALTRANS for your options.

I have found that it cost more to fight the ticket than to just pay it. You state your were at fault, how do yo except to challenge this ticket??
