i have a new laptop with vista and works 8.5. i need to create a lot of power point presentations and am not able to find power point software anywhere on works 8.5.
please can someone help me out. iam new to vista and microsoft works 8.5. i am used to windows xp and the older microsoft office suite. life was better. am finding lot of problems with this new stuff.

Its not im afraid. Power point comes with Microsoft Office and not with MS Works. but generally with Vista you do get a free 30 day trial version. The 30 days begins after you use or install it for the first time.

M$oft Works does not include PPT. Office does.

Unless you want to buy Office, you can download a fully compatible lookalike at:

http://www.openoffice.org

Works does not include Powerpoint, for that you need one of the more expensive editions of Microsoft Office.

Consider OpenOffice.org (free from http://www.openoffice.org/ ) which includes OpenOffice Impress (which can save in PowerPoint format).

powerpoint has never been included in Works. You need to get MS Office.

Works does not include Powerpoint.

If you still have the old install disks for the office suite you used to use, you can install it on your new computer.

Powerpoint is a part of office, not works. :(
