Does this presentation make sense in our culture? It is kind of an allegory.

The questions has been asked...is their only one way. Well here is my thought:
Once upon a time there was a king who lived in a fortified city. He wanted to have fellowship with the people outside the walls so he made a door. He told the people, "Anyone is welcome to come in to my kingdom, the door is open." Some believed him and did, however, many refused to come through his door & were angry at him for being so close-minded. Others refused to acknowledge the king or his door. They said, "How do you know the king exists? Have you ever seen him? And of this door...how do you know it exists?" Yet the king keeps the door open so that people can come in and have fellowship.

Jesus is the door. And all who enter through Him will certainly never be cast out.

Our sin has seperated us from God, but He did make a door.

Remember it is a parable...it cannot be analized too deeply. 1) Certaily you can build walls around you. 2) The door was symbolic of Jesus.

Hey, haven't seen you in a while. Anyhow, yes the door will be closed when all who will believe come in. Those outside (like Noah's ark) are out there by choice & know the consequences of their actions- just like you and I know the consequences. So why don't they come in & quit being so stubborn?

Not bad.

I really liked the version of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday with Kurt Russel. It was better than the other versions including the Kevin Costner version.

Yes Jesus is the king, and all who enter in his door will never be casted out. But the Bible also states that not everyone who says Lord Lord will enter in but the ones that do the will of my father will enter in. The bible was translated by scholars who saw, walked, and even talked with him. Murders, theives, rapists, will not enter, unless they repent and are baptizied into Christ, Not all who enters at the straight gate will enter the kingdom, because some will enter at the narrow gate, Only the ones that repent and do the will of the father will go to heaven. Read the bible it has some enteresting thing in it and will tell you alot about who and who will not enter the kingdom.

Sure. I like it.

But you need to add Chapter 2. "And then one day the king closed the door to the castle. A great fire swept throughout the kingdom and burned everyone in it, except those inside the castle. Though the king had the power to stop this fire, he did not. It served them right for not coming in the castle when they had a chance."

How did the king get into the castle before there was a door? For that matter, who would make a castle with no door? Its not very practical.

Why the walls?

[edit] I still don't understand. Seems like if he could make a door, he could tear down the wall.

i think that's great!
i agree.
it is there for the taking ... believing, obeying unto salvation.
the door is open, you just have to find your way there.

so sad that ... so many are not willing to even look for the door ...
"For many are called, but few are chosen." (matt.22:14)

"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty"
(1 cor. 1:26-27)

Your allegory has a lot of merit.

The fortified city would represent the truth then.

The truth is pure and separate from what is not truth.

Very good, I like it. Some folks just think they can still sneak in the back door. Not gonna work.
