i just wanted you people to know that we're not all like those damn terrorist and that they only call themselves muslims but in fact they are not.
thanks and please post your oppinions

I understand that not all muslim's are terrorist. The thing that bothers me is that how do we know? As an American, can I trust all Muslims? No, I cannot because of the terror so many have wreaked!

I hate this too! But, my country was attacked on 9-11 and since, many have tried other tactics....we have the right to be non-trusting.

You see, I do not trust Muslims anymore. I can't! We are at war with suicidal maniacs who hide under rocks and in holes! They hide behind women and children too and that to me is simply unforgiveable. To teach a child such hatred and then , to brainwash that child with "kill the infidels"....that takes a heartless parent to do that to a child!

Sorry, but, jihad is a term some muslims use for their own agendas of murdering and terrorizing.

Every religion...and non-religion (if Atheism is a non-religion) has its extremists. I assume the great majority of Muslims, Christians, and other mainline religions are good people who just want to be left alone, worship their god, have fun with their families and make some sort of a living. Hierarchies tend to breed extremist followers and many religions are based on man-made hierarchies so you can guess what the outcome will be for a small minority of any religion's believers...extremism. You can't hold that against the rest of the religion's believers though.

Jihad should mean to defend the Muslim religion not defend people killing Muslims. The point of us going there is to kill terrorists not innocent civilians.

It isn't that we don't realize that not all muslims are terrorists.
It does seem, though, that the biggest majority of terrorists these days are Muslims.
Aurora Dawn, who, even though she is an atheist (you know I luv ya, Hun!), usually makes pretty good sense, is still frightend of the idea of Jihad.
So am I.
Smells like Pot makes a very good point, as well. Do you really think that there are no "good" Muslims who could tell us where the small minority of Muslim terroists are hiding? Wouldn't it be a blessing to Islam to let us get rid of these guys? (I know if it were Christian terrorists, I'd want them gone.)

I especially like Galilee's idea. Maybe if you guys could get the terrorists among you to wear flashing neon signs or something...

I know that there is a difference between a Muslim terrorist and a Muslim. It's good to know that all Muslims do not believe that way. To me, jihad is still a frightening concept.

Well then, looks like you have a lot of devout "non-muslims" masquerading as muslims giving the rest of you a piss poor name. Maybe you all should do something about that and get proactive instead of trying to preach to us here on Y!A. Seriously. Very few of us believe anything you guys say. It's just more propaganda in a futile attempt to make yourselves look all noble and good.

Let me tell you something, baby boy....actions speak louder than words, so sell this bushel to the mushroom farmer.

I understand and appreciate your intention, but jihad has a more powerful meaning that the superficial understanding you present.

Study Sufism. The internal jihad is about battling the learned egoic identity within (the beliefs of the tribe/community/family). It is about personal transformation and the power to transform the world/reality through purity of being the authentic Self. Of course simple justice is important to mankind, but if you change yourSelf you change the world.

I pray that those that say they are Muslim will listen to you. As I have never met a Muslim, but from what I have seen in Israel and the car bombings in the middle east. These acts just don't hurt people that are not Muslim, but it hurts Muslims as well.

If those "damn terrorists" only represent a small minority, then why is it so damn hard to find them? Surely some of the other 1.5 billion muslims in the world know where they are.

Thanks for actually standing up for your people. I'm not muslim, but noone should be persecuted just because of their religion. And for all those who preach how the christians are so innocent, think about the crusades, and the Inquisition, and St. Patrick, and the witch burning. Nothing is perfect, so don't pretend.
