On international flights most airlines will not permit the dog in the passenger cabin. It must be stowed in the baggage hold.
You should ask specifically what is required on the airline you plan to use.

Cost will vary depending on where you are flying from.

Be certain that you have an approved type of travel cage. The cage must have a lockable door and all mesh must be small enough that the dog cannot get a foot/leg or even nose outside or through the mesh.

United Kingdom has some of the toughest restrictions for importing dogs. You will need an import licence from Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (not difficult, but paperwork is involved.

You will need a health certificate that is issued by a local veterinarian not more than thirty days prior to travel.

You need a certificate of rabies vaccination. The certificate is valid for one year from date of injection.

All of that done, your dog can travel to UK, and should be OK, but despite all of this, the dog is subject to quarantine.

To avoid the quarantine, there is a PETS program, that makes certain demands and provisions for waiving the quarantine. If you live in an approved country, you may be able to meet the requirements.

You can check the conditions under PETS for avoiding quarantine here:

Enjoy your trip.

Gladstone's sucks whether you agree that it sucks or not. Paradise Cove Cafe is far superior, and so much less touristy!

By the way, the one answerer is right. Your little dog could be put in quarantine for up to 6 months. I am originally from UK and was heartbroken that my Cocker Spaniel was kept from me while visiting a few years ago!

im pretty darn sure. ive seen dogs on here before. just put her in a small carrying case or purse and as long as shes tiny you will be able to take her on. but make sure she has her shots and her tags.

have a good trip!!

i wouldn't suggest taking your dog out of country, it's a long process that could unclude your dog being taken from you and put in quarentine for MANY MANY months (like up to 6 months!)
